Resumo: The City Youth Services organizes activity that supports the growth and development of children and young people, supplementing the work done in that respect at home and school. Youth services is organised for the residents under 29 years of age.
According to the Youth Act, municipal functions in youth work and youth policy are the support of active citizenship of young people, the social strengthening of young people and the improvement of young people’s conditions of upbringing and living. Youth work and policy is implemented in a multidisciplinary way in co-operation with local authorities, youth organizations and organizations carrying out youth work.

Perfil: Age: 18-30

Tarefas: Youth Services has workshops which are meant for the employment of young people. They are places where unemployed youngsters between ages 16 - 29 have a chance to work, learn the ground rules of the working life, improve their social skills and acquire new skills and vocational know-how.

These skills are not a prerequisite for being employed at one of the workshops, even a completely inexperienced or untrained youth will be allowed to work at one of these locations. Youth workshops offer assignments in carpentry, upholstering, repairing furniture, textile works, other handicraft works, household sanitation (mostly for elderly people), gardening jobs, moving and package delivery jobs in the area. ESC volunteer will work in the workshop as one of the other young employees, not as a leader.

The work assignments that volunteer is going to do are chosen by their skills and his/her own interests. An important task for the volunteer is to encourage our young employees to speak English or other foreign languages and to encourage them in internationalizing.

We would appreciate if our volunteer had genuine interest in handicraft works of some kind and it would be great, if the volunteer could show us some handicraft skills from their own culture.
