Resumo: The hosting organization is a public school for primary and lower secondary education and has 550 pupils from 5 to 16 years of age – from pre-school to the 9th degree. The school has two-tree classes in every year group and an after school care for our pupils in the grades 0.-3. HThe organization is located in a small town with approximately 7300 inhabitants located in the outskirts in the second largest town in Denmark. This is an open-plan school and is based on the core values community, professionalism, innovation and creativity at all levels. The 550 pupils are mostly inhabitants and come from several different social groups. Approximately 15% of the pupils are bilingual with different cultural backgrounds and many of the pupils have moved to Denmark recently and started at in the public school.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
We accept applications from young people from the age of 18. We expect that you have finished your high school education. Experience with working with children is advantageous though not required. Interest and/or experience in sustainable living is an advantage. The volunteer’s personal skills & interests will be considered and an individual time schedule will be made. We expect that the volunteer will actively participate in and be committed to the assignments and activities they are assigned to and that they will cooperate with all staff and also are willing to learn Danish.

Tarefas: The volunteers’ job will be to participate in language classes, creative subjects, the school canteen and activities in the After-School club:
- Participation in the After-School Club 2-5 days a week
- Pedagogical and language support to children in language classes – German and English
- Pedagogical and practical support in creative and sports classes
- Break guide once a day including initiating activities
- Participation in activity days - Participation in the school kitchen 2-8 hours a week
- Implementing new garbage sorting system - Taking pictures and making films for distribution on the school’s webpage
- Project planning and implementation of own initiatives about sustainability and solidarity projects in cooperation with other volunteers
- Individual smaller projects of personal interest

Condições: The volunteers will be accommodated close to Højboskolen in an apartment together with other volunteers, sharing the kitchen, bathroom, toilet and washing facilities and with a little garden. A bike will be provided and monthly transport cost reimbursed, and lunch at school and diet money.
