Resumo: The hosting organization was founded in 1984 and it was a small foster house. Now it is constituted by 5 communities for minors and some houses for young adults.

The kids we host are both italian and foreigners (also non-accompanied migrant children) who are under the
social services’ care because of different kind of problems in their families. The communities for minors host
around 7/10 kids who are from 3 to 17 years old.

The yound adults – from 18 to 22 – live in separate houses and they are semi-autonomous.
Our job is mainly to support them in their daily life and to create emotional bonds with them in order to improve
their general wellbeing. To reach this goal we also promote several activities – sport, theatre, day trips, holidays
and so on.

We also have an italian language school open to our kids and others, in which many volunteers use their time to
help the students learn italian so as to be able to build a life in Italy.

Perfil: • Be over 22 years old.
• Possibly have a basic knowledge of Italian.
• Have a driver licence.

Tarefas: The project is founded on the European Union principles and it’s broad aim is to support the creation of an
European identity based on solidarity. The volunteers are considered as agents of positive change and active
citizens. On one hand, they will contribute to achieve the objective of a more inclusive society, supporting
vulnerable people, and on the other hand they will acquire useful competences for their personal, education,
social, civic and professional development, therefore improving their employability.

The EU Youth Strategy is based on 3 key points: engage, connect and empower. This project encompasses them
all, providing the young volunteers with the opportunity to:
• Actively support people with less opportunities, living side by side with them for one year and therefore
thoroughly understanding the reality of vulnerable communities;
• Live in an intercultural environment and acquire tools to realise their own potential;
• Raise their awarness about the contemporary societal challenges.

1. To participate, together with the educators, to the community’s daily life. The simple daily actions are used by
the team as educational tools to create bonds, accompany and support, everyday, the minors’ growth and to
reach the educational objectives set for each of them.
2. To go to the Italian language school and be peer educators. The volunteers will have the opportunity to learn Italian and, after a while, help other students learn the language.

Typical activities are:
• To support the educators in the organizational tasks;
• To support the kids in their daily activities such as: studying, cooking, going to sport etc;
• To organize activities during the kid’s free time;
• To learn Italian and be peer educators for the other students of the Italian school.
