Resumo: (Cultural, social media, repair and recycling)
The association was created in 2017 as a result of a collective idea of the environmental transition in the area.
This idea gradually, and all other projects of our organization, shaped into a project of a common home. This home is meant to be a participatory store, a place for exchanging knowledge & practices, a cultural and social place, a place of repair and recycling – all at the same time. In 2019, we had the opportunity to turn this idea into reality by acquiring a former hotel restaurant that we use for our different activities.

Our main purpose is to promote short circuits (producer to consumer) in food, culture, the transmission of knowledge and know-how with special attention to environmental issues.

Our main objectives are:
- promoting healthy eating that’s accessible to everyone and has low environmental impact;
- promoting social bonds, cultural and generational dialogue and diversity;
- helping the ecological transition through recycling and zero waste practices;
- helping entrepreneurs in the rural area as well as boosting and supporting the local community.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
We are not looking for a specific profile regarding skills and knowledge. The volunteer should be interested in the activities we propose and care about environmental issues. The number of the valley’s inhabitants who speak English is limited. So, we advise you to apply for this mission only if you know at least basic French or are really motivated to learn it quickly. This way, it’ll be easier for you to integrate into the local community.

Tarefas: We propose the volunteer to get involved, alongside our
members, in one or several of these activities (with the
possibility to change their choice every 3 months):

RECYCLERIE
One part of the work is between us (sorting, cleaning, fixing, items, setting up, decorating). Another part is turned towards others (welcoming visitors, providing information, sales, getting items to a customer’s home).
Specific skills are not required. Good mood, initiative, and creativity are encouraged.

WORKSHOPS AND RENOVATION
Reserved for the organization’s members, these moments solicit the ability to work together, as well as show curiosity, cleverness, and capacity to collaborate to find solutions.
The renovation and maintenance of the building are made by professionals possessing the relevant skills (electricity, plumbing, etc.) and by volunteers when it comes to decoration (painting, putting up shelves, etc.).
Specific skills are not required. Good mood, initiative, and creativity are encouraged.

GROCERY STORE AND CAFÉ
re, you need to know the products, be able to talk about them, check the optimal use deadline, keep the place clean, be kind to the visitors, handle stocks, replenish them, etc.
In addition to stock management, cleaning, and customer service, it requires knowledge and communication skills – they can be learned on spot.

CULTURAL EVENTS, CO-WORKING
SPACE, AND COMMUNICATION
Setting up the room, café service, storage, cleaning – whatever is necessary to accommodate cultural events. That also includes welcoming entrepreneurs and artists, explaining the project to them, inviting them to discover the whole hotel.
It requires organizational and communication skills – they can be learned on spot.

Each volunteer will have time dedicated to a personal project.
During that time, the volunteer will be working on it – and boosting their skills in the process.
For example, you can decide to start a blog on something you care about, organize a photo exhibition, set up a speaking club or host an open stage event. All ideas are welcome.

Horário: The volunteers will be involved 30h/week, which includes participating in the organization’s activities, working on a
personal project, learning French, self-reflecting, and developing skills.

Condições: ACCOMMODATION & FACILITIES
Each volunteer will be living in an individual room inside the hotelbuilding. They will have access to a kitchen and 2 bathrooms with a shower, toilet, and washing machine. As for the food, each volunteer will have a 200€ monthly allowance to buy groceries. Members of the organization who go to external events will be invited to drive the volunteers if they want to go.
The volunteers will be in contact with a mentor who speaks French, English, Ukrainian, and Russian; she’s a former European volunteer living in Veynes. The mentor will be in charge of helping them to integrate the local community and showing them around.
Some of our active members also speak Italian.
