Resumo: (Alternative Museum)
When we started working on this idea, we came to conclusion that if we wanted to create a museum, it needed to be a different one. From the beginning, we thought about different ways of reaching out to people, especially, the youngest one, and making them feel like they belong to the museum. For us, it was really important to create a safe space, where people could be part of the whole experience. we didn´t want our place to become a serious, boring environment, where people would go and leave with the same feelings. We wanted this project to have a space for everyone, to involve and visitors actively in the experience, in order to create feelings and to engage them on the learning in an alternative, fun and accessible way, and of course, for free.

Perfil: If you are an artist (18 to 30 years old), no matter the level of experience or education, then this project may be for you!
Based on your talents and interests, you will be supported by our team to create and build experiential museums approaching 4 thematic inspired by the local cultural heritage.
The museums will become an important part of your carrier as an artist, but in the same time will shape new opportunities for the local communities, giving the chance to local youth to learn and to connect with their culture

Tarefas: The volunteer will explore the world of non-formal education, learning tools to share their artistic skills and knowledge to youth and local communities. The volunteers will work for 38 h per week, including the lunch breaks, in a very flexible and supportive environment, allowing self-expression and initiative. At the end of volunteering mobility the volunteers will get a valuable artistic portfolio and an European certificate. The volunteers will approach four topics for the experiential museums based on 4 cultural heritage subjects. Our last event was when we launched Alternative Experiential Museum, with the help of 4 ESC volunteers, specialized in ceramic, body-painting, photo-video and architecture.

Condições: We will provide accommodation in double room, in a rented villa. You will receive 150 euro/month (food money) and 3 euro/per day (pocket money). These money are enough for the living standards. We will reimburse the travel costs based on a lump sum and we will help you figure out how to reach us. The volunteer will stay in a small and safe town.
