Resumo: The project "EVS-Enjoy the Volunteer Spirit" is dedicated to European Year of Volunteer by its specific shape: the European Voluntary Service. The EVS stages lasts 9 months and 4 EVS young volunteers will participate in. The EVS Activities will be held in the county of Braila ( Braila municipality and two rural communities).

The two activities of EVS are:
1 - Initiation and deployment of volunteer community action to boost civic spirit of volunteering in the community as young people (in two centers for elderly care in Braila, The Inclusive Education Center School in Braila for children and youth with light mental deficiency and risk of social exclusion, the Seniors Club at the County Library “Panait Istrati ", in children's holiday clubs of the two rural communities)
2 –info-euro-point in Club Voltin Office: information services and promotion of young people from local communities about the opportunities, benefits, conditions of participation in the European Voluntary Service by Youth in Action Programme: Organizing competitions: Young Volunteer of the Year in Braila, EU_RO_TIN; Treasure Hunt on EVS with young people in community participation, direct discussions with young people in institutions and organizations.
The project goal is to bring information and reality of volunteering in general and volunteer by EVS in particular closer to the young people of Braila County .

Tarefas: Tasks for volunteers:

- Romanian language intensive course

- involvement in EVS volunteer actions by personal initiative and using own experience

- promote volunteering by being a role-model

- participation in trainings organized by the Romanian National Agency

- work in a team with one others EVS volunteer, local young volunteers and mentor

Condições: Risk prevention, protection and safety:

In order to prevent any cultural shock that the volunteer may develop, he/she will be given informative materials regarding the culture from where the host organization is (he/she will be presented with the information on customs, manners, ways of interacting, laws etc). Furthermore, beside the tutor, the new volunteer will have a personal companion (with good knowledge of English/other international used language), assisting him/her whenever he/she leaves his home (the companions will help the volunteer accommodate with the new environment-local currency, location of shops, institutions, leisure time locations etc) After this period he/she will still be provided with ongoing support whenever needed.
When arriving in the country there will always be an awaiting person helping the volunteer to reach the organization.
The volunteer will live in decent housing conditions (clean, watered, heated etc).
In order to stay in touch with family and friends, the volunteer will have access to internet and phone.
For ensuring work safety, before engaging in activities in the host organization or specific activities the volunteer will be provided a training on how to use different devices, accomplish different tasks etc. Moreover, a session will be organized including the new volunteer, a local volunteer and an employee of the host organization, sessions that will have as objective the risk assessment ( identifying all possible hazards and preventing them).
Decreasing motivation or demoralization will be prevented by motivating volunteers through recognition and feedback.
Exclusion feelings experienced by the volunteer will be prevented by organizing teambuilding activities within the organization or a specific team.
