Resumo: (environment)
The hosting organization is a non-profit organization founded in 2014 and focused mainly on the development of local food, on solidarity-based initiatives and Food Sovereignty, and on environmental education in sustainable food systems in the Czech Republic as well as throughout Europe. Its main targets are to educate adults, youth and children alike in the environmental aspects of agriculture and food consumption, to provide guidance to farmers and consumers in setting up local food initiatives and social enterprises, to promote local food alternatives and perform research and studies in the field of sustainable farming and local food systems.
Our team consists of local leaders and researchers who are involved in promoting and starting up of consumer-farmer local food initiatives in various parts of the Czech Republic. We stand behind the development of the Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) projects in the Czech Republic, whose total number has grown from 0 to 25 in the last 4 years. This has been due to sustained promotion, education and facilitation of the establishment of local initiatives. AMPI has been running its own garden kindergarten where kids are educated on a daily basis on the issue of soil, food and farming as well.
Some members of the team are organic farming advisors, one is an organic farmer and the founder of the first community-led CSA farm in the Czech, and others are involved in research and also work at academic level. Our members are also connected to the national organic agriculture movement. On the international level, the organization plays an active role in the Food Sovereignty movement, CSA movement and Access to Land network in Europe.
