Resumo: The Association was born in 1998 as the first information centre about community policies. The Association realizes information’s activities useful to promote a feeling of european citizenship and to improve the territorial society and economy, often in collaboration with regional and local Institutions (departments) or with social actors as schools, young people, associations etc.

The Association is part of the network Europe Direct. The Europe Direct information network, launched in 2005, acts as a broker between the European Union and the citizens at the local level.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
Specific skills volunteer should have:
• be open minded
• positive actitude
• flexibility to adapt to possible changes
• initiative, creativity and respect
• patient with children
• motivated to work with youngsters
• motivation and determination to learn more
• communicative and sociable
• interest in Erasmus+ and its promotion

Level of language skills:
Intermediate knowledge of English and strong motivation to learn Italian. However the knowledge of Italian language is not required it will be valued and preferable

Tarefas: The association has been organizing the Project for over 15 years. It is a project to discover the European Union intended for students of primary and middle schools, through non-formal education and game.
The main objective of the project is to raise awareness among young people to be European citizens. We realize this goal with the educational Institutions of the city and the Region .

For EVS volunteers, the project represents a path of personal experimentation and of maturation and learning through:
5) the acquisition of skills in non-formal education through the exchange and transfer of methodologies and knowledge;
6) greater active participation in the local community and greater spirit of initiative;
7) the development of self-awareness through activities aimed at bringing out their cultural uniqueness in the host context;
8) the acquisition of new language skills;
9) the improvement and acquisition of life skills: ability to interpersonal and relational approach, self-management skills and organization, ability to adapt to different geographical, social and cultural contexts from the original one

Horário: Volunteers will work from Monday to Friday. During the year, according with the times of the schools and the events organized by Euromed Carrefour Sicilia the timetable can change a little. Volunteers will work for 5 days per week, with 2 consecutive days off (normally Saturday and Sunday).
Volunteers will get 2 days of holiday per month.

Condições: The accommodation is provided by the Association and is located in the downtown.
You will live in the apartment with other italians and ESC volunteers.
A Pocket money of 5 euro per day will be provided plus 150 euro for month for covering the food expenses. The volunteers will also get a annual ticket for covering the transports for getting the working venue.
