Resumo: (environment)
The hosting organization is a non-profit organization founded in august 2007 with the aim of connecting people with nature and promoting environmental awareness.
The main focus of the Nature School is on educational programs for school and kindergarden kids. We also offer nature camps for youngsters during school vacation. Apart from that we organize nature hikes, lectures and trainings on environmental education, permaculture, handicrafs.

Our aim is to build up an interactive, informative and attractive complex. So far the Nature School offers lots of smaller attractions like barefoot-trail, permaculture garden, water playground and the interaction with our animals (goats, chicken, rabbits and bees).

With the help of volunteers from different countries we build up the grounds of the Nature School, keep our hiking trail in order and restore a wooded meadow within the National Park. We organize international workcamps every year.
The organization in active in the devolopment of the region as destination for sustainable turism. In cooperation with partners in Estonia in Latvia we implement waste audit programs in schools.

The organization has two employees and additional staff during children camps and work camps. The organization hosts two German volunteers at the time doing a so called voluntary ecological year.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
We will choose a volunteer based on their motivation and interest in working in our organisation. We would like to host a volunteer who is motivated in learning about environmental and nature education and would like to work with children and youngsters. We are looking for a volunteer, that wants to live for some time in a very rural area, is interested in nature, hiking and other outdoor activities and is willing to do physical work outside.

Tarefas: The works and activities differ according to season, weather and special interests of the volunteers. The volunteer helps to prepare and implement activities for children and other target groups. The volunteer will also visit youth centres and schools in the municipality and prepare activities for children there. The volunteer will help to maintain the grounds of the Nature School and the local hiking trail, take care of our animals (goats, chicken, ducks, rabbits, bees), do garden works, take part in workcamps and nature protection works.

Condições: Until september the volunteer will live in a municipality house, which is 16 km away of the organization. The volunteer will have his/her own room with bathroom. Kitchen and other facilities like washing maschine are shared. From autumn on the volunteer will share a flat with two german volunteers, still have his/her own roo, but shared bathroom and kitchen. The volunteers cook for themselves. At the moment there are two german volunteers and one spanish volunteer in the project. The volunteers share a car for getting to work and private use. There are also bicycles.
