Resumo: (work with youngsters with Autism Spectrum Disorder)
The hosting organization is a non-profit organisation that has been founded on 2003 by the parents of children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder in order to meet the children needs to education and social integration. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a developmental and neurological condition that affects oneʼs social communication and behaviour, restricting their interests and activities. Our mission is to improve the quality of life of those diagnosed with ASD and their families, focusing on:

● Providing therapy for children and adults diagnosed with ASD (ABA therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, Kinesiotherapy, art therapy, socialization opportunities)
● Supporting the personal and professional development of a team to work on improving the quality of life of the children and adults with ASD
● Fostering institutional cooperation between schools/universities, NGOs and families of those diagnosed with ASD in order to assure their academic and social integration
● Enlarging the opportunities for mutual understanding by empowering youth with knowledge regarding ASD and means of interaction and social integration
● Encouraging the civic participation and active youth involvement in raising awareness through events revolving around the abilities and needs of people diagnosed with ASD
● Implementing new social practices in the field of public health and education rights of people with special needs

Perfil: Age: 18-30
We are looking for volunteers that host abilities related to:
- photo/video and social media content creation
- art and handmade crafts
- creative and academic writing
- cooking and/or greening

Tarefas: The main activities will consist of working in a day-care center for children and adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder in order to help youngsters with ASD acquire skills for an independent life and integrate into society by spreading awareness in the community.
