Resumo: The main goal of Insieme is the maximization of reuse and recycling of the donations and the collected waste, in cooperation with municipalities, waste management companies, citizenship and private companies. Our priority is to develop a multi-stakeholder waste prevention and reduction strategy aimed to have positive social and environmental impacts. The organization manages 10 waste collection centres, 2 Preparation for Reuse centres, 4 second-hand shops and 1 social bar.

The other important mission of the organization is promoting social inclusion: creating job places available for disadvantaged people (migrants, psychic disable people, people coming from addiction or detention stories, etc.) through work integration programmes in cooperation with local Social Services. People involved are 200: 70 employees, 80 disadvantaged people, 50 among Public Utility Works, local and European volunteers, etc.

Thus, giving a second chance to people and items is what Insieme pursues in its everyday work.

Perfil: Age: 18-30

Tarefas: Carolina will play a leading role in supporting and completing the hosting organisation activity. She will actively and creatively contribute to:
- help elaborating, planning and carrying out projects based on assisting people in their learning programmes;
- sensitise and promote topics concerning human rights, social housing culture, environment and sustainable development – at every level, and even supporting the organisation of local awareness raising events and initiatives, if required;
- help the activities organized by the cooperative;
- support the management of “no-working” activities, i.e. the free-time within individual projects, etc.;
- act as “ferrymen” between the adults and the youth worlds, as well as between the Cooperative and the youth;
- strength the links with the wider social environment.

She will not be made responsible of whole work areas/projects on her own; she will be always coached and put in the condition to discuss what she thinks of the activities and projects; responsibilities will be always shared with other members of the staff.

Carolina can be involved, according to his skills and interests, in one or more of the following main areas:
- Working sessions, especially addressed to disadvantaged people.
This activity is linked to the programmes of “intermediate paths to work” who organize and develop work sessions with people with light mental disabilities, the volunteer can be involved like a key role as mediator, with a peer-to-peer approach, as a co-tutorship of disadvantaged people, with the participation to assessment meetings and helping educators in coordinating the group.
