Resumo: (Science Centre)
The Science Centre in Gdynia (Poland) is an interactive exhibition and one of the first such ventures in Poland, opened in June 2007. The Science Centre is a modern scientific and educational playground for amateur explorers and the ‘learning through fun’ philosophy followers of all ages. User-friendly interactive exhibits are divided into 5 sections: Hydroworld, The Tree Of Life, Operation: Human, Invisible Forces and Toward Health. Each exhibition presents the visitor with an unique opportunity to experience and understand everyday phenomena by independently conducting simple, safe and amusing experiments.
Target group of the Science Centre is very diverse. Our interactive exhibition is suitable for wide age range – from young children to the elders.
Approximately 1000 people visit the Science Centre every day, which adds up to more than 20 000 guests every month. The Science Centre is open usually 6 days a week (Tuesday – Sunday). Opening hours: from Tuesday to Friday between 9.00 a.m. - 6.00 p.m., on Saturdays and Sundays from 10.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. The venue is not open for visitors on Mondays, which changes during summertime, when the Science Centre takes in visitors every day of the week.
Perfil: Age: 18-30
We are searching for people who are communicative and open for new experiences, creative and inventive. Both male and female volunteers are wanted. The volunteer should be interested in methods of active education, open for people from other countries and cultures and like to co-operate and work in group. S/he should be open-minded to contribute with one’s own creativity and willing to develop his/her personality
Tarefas: The Science Centre is a modern scientific and educational playground for amateur explorers and the „learning through fun” philosophy followers of all ages. the Science Centre organizes birthday parties for children, special lectures for little children and their parents, various workshops for younger and older guests. The Science Centre participates in many occasional festivals of science in the whole country.
Condições: Volunteer will be provided with monthly Pocket money and tickets for buses in Gdynia to go to work. Volunteer will share a room with 2-3 other volunteers in a rented flat.
