Resumo: (work with people with mental disorder)
The hosting organization is a public resource of the Government of Estremadura destined to the treatment and rehabilitation of persons with serious mental disorder.

The persons who nowadays benefit from the above mentioned resource have in common that they are persons with serious Mental illness.
In addition, in the Unit of Long Stay, there are persons with serious mental disorder and Mental Retardation.

It consists of the following units:

-Unit of Medium Stay that relies on a total of 30 beds and which average occupation is 83.33 %
Patients with diseases in chronic process who present active symptomatology in spite of having followed treatment in regime of revenue in Units of Brief Hospitalization, besides patients with scanty or void social-familiar support which prevents the ambulatory treatment.

- Unit of Rehabilitation that relies on a total of 64 beds and which average occupation is 87.50 %
Patients whose psychiatric active symptomatology is not wiping out in the average time of internment in the Unit of Medium Stay, existing reasonable expectations that they could benefit from the specific treatments of the Units of Rehabilitation.

Patients with many years of hospitalization, who live in the units of chronic persons of the psychiatric hospitals and have psyco-social deficits that can be corrected by the rehabilitation.

Patients with serious mental disorder who, because of their chronic evolution, refractoriness, dysfunction and / or disruptive conduct, are not suited to the interventions in other resources and whose treatment in community resources would be difficult, needing to continue treatment of rehabilitation in a hospitable environment.

- Unit of Alcoholism that relies on a total of 14 beds and which average occupation is 57.14 %
Alcoholic patients who fulfil the criteria of revenue, in this Unit they realize the detoxification and start the disintoxication of their dependence.

- Psicogeriatrícs' Unit that relies on a total of 73 beds and which average occupation is 79.45 %
Patients over 65 years of age living in the Centro Sociosanitario.

- Unit of Long Stay that has a total of 149 beds and an occupation of 73.83 %; due to its volume, this unit is organized in different areas:
1. Chronic Mental Illness (independent pavilion for men and women): patients with serious mental disorder and no chance of rehabilitation.
2. Mental Retardation (pavilion for men and women).
3. Elderly people.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
high motivated, positive energy, willing to help others.

Tarefas: helping people with mentall illness, intellectual disability or other mental disorders in their daily job, organize free time activities with them such as board games, dancing, sports, walking, handicrafts, drawing, gardening, outdoor activities…

Horário: The volunteer will work 30-35 hours per week. He/she will have 2 consecutive free days per week + 2 free days per month.

Condições: The volunteer will live in an apartment to be shared with other 3/4 volunteers, in the center of the city.
The apartment includes: 1 kitchen, 1 living room, 4/5 bedrooms (each volunteer will have his/her own bedroom), 2 bathrooms and 2 balconies.
Food will be covered by the Coordinating Organization, 130€/month.
POCKET MONEY The volunteer will receive 5 euros per day of pocket money, paid in cash or by bank transfer by the coordinating organization in the first 5 days of each month.
