Resumo: Work in a “Hous for children” for children between 6 month and 10 years.

Perfil: The volunteers should be interested in the work with the children and should enjoy the contact with them. It would be good if the volunteers organize with pleasure the activities for the children, for example days in the forest. The information about the free EVS vacancy will be spread in the networks - Youthnet, Eurodesk, Platform Network. The institution is open for all young people.

Tarefas: The volunteers should bring to the institution their different skills, abilities, interests, personality. They should gather various experience and be aware of their pedagogical skills. They should learn to be aware of their talents and to propose specfic offers to the children. They could get to know a lot about Germany, German culture, values, norms and pedagogics. Also they will have a chance to have contact with children of different ages and if they want, they can work with different age groups. The volunteers are part of the team, who will take part in the meetings, plannings, evaluations and team trainings. The own initiative, proposals of te activities are wished and will be supported.
The activities in which the volunteers are involved: speaking with the children, playing with the children indoor, morning gathering, games in garden (with balls, role games, playing in the sandbox), excursions, days in the forest, home economics tasks (order in the group room, garderobe), taking part in the planing meetings, team meetings, specific activities (handicrafts, singing, gymnastics, hearing stories, games). The important offer in the institution are the proect and action weeks. After the familiarization and orienteering time the volunteers will have opportunity to facilitate their own project or offer with the support of the educator. They have big space to develop for their own initiatives, they can bring something from their country, like language, games, specialities, tradition or make offers, like singing songs, house conomics, langauges, painting, gardening, dancing with the children.
The important scope in the institution is planning and organizing the seasonal Christian festivals (Thanksgiving, Saint Martin, Saint Nicolaus, Advent). There the volunteers can get an insight about the German tradition.

Condições: The volunteers have in the project safe working conditions. They are notinvolved only in one team but they will receive the continuous instructions. The project will be in the close contact with the coordinating organisation, which also stays in contact with the volunteer. The volunteer will get in contact through the coordinating organisation Jugendbildungsstätte Unterfranken with the network of the other volunteers who have got the same mentor - taking care of all the personal concerns and free time. The volunteers live together in the shared apartment. Thanks to regular meetings with the mentor from the coordinating organisation and contact with other volunteers it would be possible to recognize the problems and crisis and to promptly solve them.

Formação: The House of Children would like to invite international volunteers who would contribute to the intercultural opening of the institution as well as of the community. In the House are accommodated around 130 Children (aged from 6 months up to 10 years). Thanks to the foreign volunteer in the institution it would be possible to create the awareness that there are people who have got roots and homeland somewhere else, who speak other language and often cultivate other traditions. The volunteers from abroad could represent the enrichment with proposing their skills, talents, traditions, customs, games, songs, dances. In Höchberg live relatively not many people with migration background, but the community maintains the intensive relations with the partner cities abroad. It would be also conceivable to host volunteers from the partner regions.
