Resumo: Work in the office of the Stadtjugendring, where many offers for youngsters are organized. Realizing offers.
Perfil: Interest in work with children and youth, basic curiosity about social work. Willingness to work in the evening or sometimes at the weekend, openess and flexibility in dealing with a lot of various people.
Tarefas: The volunteer is a part of a team.He/she will be involved in preparing, organizing and post processing projects and events of the association. It means as well a co-work in the area of Intercultural opening in the member associations, children cinema, a contact with twin cities and to organise and coduct meetings of board members. While being in the association, the volunteer can work in different projects or can independently organise projects. This can be for example-public relation work during the action days of youth work in Würzburg, intercultural treasure hunt or tours through Würzburg (for kids and youngsters ). Another project, "Culture-coloured", where the volunteers can be as well active, tries to bring intercultural opening process into children or youngsters´ groups. The volunteers have the opportunity to get involved in various projects running in the association, it depends on their abilities and interests. A part of their work can be taking care of international guests in Würzburg or international exchanges . .
Condições: The volunteer never works alone in the project. There are regular guide conversations held between the volunteer and the project, in which the work and insets of the volunteer are with him/her evaluated and reflected. So that all the questions can be cleared, problems detected and difficulties can be fixed.
The volunteer is not only involved in the project and co-work in the team but he /she is as well integrated in a network of volunteers, who are staying in or around Würzburg accomplishing their EVS. The coordinator from the supporting organization offers regularly appointments for all volunteers. This is as well the chance for volunteers to discuss potential difficulties in the project, in relation to culture, living, forming a living on her/his own, homesickness and others. Because of this it may be possible to uncover the problems quite early and to handle it before the escalation shall come. Due to the fact that the coordinator from the supporting organization is almost every time reachable, the volunteers have the possibility to have a contact person out of the project with whom they can talk about their crisis situation, e.g. problems between the volunteer and the project; as well the talks to clear the situation can be held.
Formação: Due to the acceptance of volunteers the view of the young people in the region shall be changed by the project with respect to intercultural life, other people, countries, cultures and ways of living. With the volunteers a piece of Europe should be brought into this region and the intercultural opening should be promoted. The volunteers are supposed to learn about the various kinds of offers given by the organization and also to co-work and enrich the projects by their experience, different cultures and personalities. The participants should inform about the experience as European volunteer being help, source of information, motivation and to pass on the information about the possibilities offered by "Jugend in Aktion" (Youth in Action) to the local youth.
