Resumo: (eldery people)
The host organization was built in 1898 aiming to support and host ill elders coming from other health care centers. Nowadays organization is run by the Valdese church with the help of volunteers and staff members.

The organization is made up by two main structures:

The main one, which hosts 84, most of them non-self sufficient elders or affecyed by dementia, some disabled adults;
The daily centre for 12 people affected by Alzheimer or dementia;

1. The main structure is organized in three residential units, with 30, 34 and 20 persons hosted each one.
2. In the daily centre, open from Monday to Friday, from 8.45am to 5.15pm, we carry out the following activities: Soft gym; Cooking; Personal care; Creativity; Workshops; Gardening; Assisted bath; hand crafts and more. The activities run in the centre, which volunteers will be involved in, aim to slow down the illness and to support the families in the daily life. The centre cooperates with the National Health System. Other social activities are organized in cooperation with other local care centre

Perfil: - 18-30 years old;
- European Citizenship;
- Motivation.

Tarefas: HELPING IN EVERYDAY LIFE: The volunteer will support the operators in preparing meals and the hosts with special needs during the meal by cutting the meat, helping them to drink water and to eat, etc.
SUPPORT IN RECREATIONAL ACTIVTIES with old people: The volunteer will be supporting staff members in the recreative and rehabilitation activities run inside and outside the center.
These activities are:
-Serve meals
-Gym -Shopping
-Excursion to the near by zone
-Music
-therapy
-Exercises for the maintenance of the cognitive functions
-Workshops with paper and other materials.

Condições: • A reimbursement of your international travel up to a certain budget: 275,00 euros.
• Food, accommodation within the host organization; Accommodation in shared rooms, wi-fi available, Italian meals every day;
• An emergency insurance;
• An On line language course offered by the programme;
• A pocket money of 5 euros per day;
