Resumo: Smokinya Foundation contributes in creating a world that works for everyone out of love, care and cooperation.
The organization serves as a learning platform for individuals who are ready to commit to their own learning and development needs. We create opportunities and provide space for people to learn, contribute and grow by participation, volunteering and leadership.
Our approach is heuristic – a method for empowering a person to discover or learn something for themselves. Smokinya provides an alternative context of learning – experiential, ‘hands-on’ or learning by doing.
Smokinya Foundation realizes its vision and values through youth work. Youth work for us is providing contexts and playground for exploration and discovery of the inner spirit of youth that individuals, groups and organizations posses. From this point many outcomes are possible on different levels and in different areas.
It started in 2013 as online blog for popularising youth mobility. Combining EVS experience, youth work and experiential learning with the energy and drive of young professionals, Smokinya grew to an informal group in 2014. In 2016 Smokinya Foundation was registered in public benefit.
We come from different backgrounds: business, marketing and humanities non-formal education, volunteering and extracurricular youth activities. Our experiences make a rich mixture of competences, skills and values. What unites us is Smokinya’s vision.
Smokinya aims at:
• support for young people in their growth through non-formal educational experiences
• encouragement of lasting interest in life-long learning, educational mobility, volunteering
• raising the quality of youth projects and the capacity of youth NGOs by sharing cross-fertilized methods of training, coaching,
coordination and management
• promotion and facilitation of cross-sector networking for innovation, enrichment, inclusion, cooperation, exchange of transferable skills, attitudes and competences
• following the trends and providing modern high quality trainings for youth and adults in the important contemporary fields where transferable skills become viral: creativity, life-long learning, innovation, critical thinking, people management, emotional inteligence
How do we do all that?
- by partnerships and participation in international projects and initiatives
-volunteering in different causes involving those in need (fewer opportunities young people and NEETs)
- participating in trainings and bringing fresh new ideas and content in our work
- networking and cooperating with NGOs, businesses and experts from variety of fields: youth, consulting, training and education, coaching
- organizing seminars, workshops, trainings focused on competences and trends in personal and organizational development
- learning together and keeping ourselves curious and updated in the fields of personal and professional development as well as sharing our outcomes and expanding our networks
Our methods: experiential learning, non-formal education, NLP, mentorship and coaching, outdoor and adventure learning, creativity and spontaneity, systemic work and constellations, art (theater, dance, performance).
We have partnered in over 60 projects in the past 4 years and we have sent more than 170 participants in projects mainly within the informal International Synergy Network, but also to projects within other networks. We still keep expanding our work and delivery quality opportunities for youth, youth workers, volunteers, educators and people involved in support of other people. Smokinya team has taken part in youth projects in Youth in Action and Erasmus+. We participated, promoted and supported projects of different NGOs in Bulgaria and abroad.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
Tarefas: 8.7.1 Organisational Support
Volunteers will be supporting the everyday activities of the organisation to improve organisational efficacy, structure, skills and to learn the basic principles of organisational development.
Indicative tasks are:
●Organising events for local youth
●Visiting schools and university faculties to promote youth mobility
●Outbound projects coordination
●Inbound project coordination
●PR on social media and media channels
●Graphic and Video material creation and editing
●Development, maintenance and promotion of Smokinya foundation website and facebook pages
●Project writing and coordination
●Photography & Video documentation
●Maintenance of the office and equipment of the organisation
●Personal goal plan in line with Smokinya Foundation's activities and volunteer’s needs
●Personal project development and implementation in line with ESC charter and in line with Smokinya Foundation's activities and volunteer’s needs
●Else, depending on needs, interests and possibility for support and training
8.7.2 Support in event management
●Support networking events
●Document networking events
●Communicate with guests
●Organize agendas and calendars of activities
8.7.3 Trainings & Workshops
These activities are learning environment, with the chance to learn about communication, cooperation, organisational development, entrepreneurship, sustainability, personal and professional development, social media and marketing etc.
Tasks:
●Planning and promoting of this learning agenda
●Practical support in the implementation of the training activities.
●Attend seminars and trainings.
●Create or co-create and implement your own training activities under the supervision of our experts.
8.7.4 Support of local institutions and other NGOs:
●field work with children, youth and young adults
●visiting schools and universities
●work with refugees
●social enterprises support
●upcycling and art etc.
8.7.5 Personal project
During the year of the service volunteers will be given the space to create their own project. We are going to provide them with support in order to enable them to create and implement any personal project that interests them, in line with ESC volunteering charter and in line with Smokinya Foundation’s activities and volunteer’s needs.
Here volunteers are the creator of their own project as well as their own experience with it.
Volunteer must prepare a detailed plan with desired outcomes and expected impact on local and international levels. In case budget is requested, the plan has to be presented and pitched in front of the Smokinya Foundation youth workers, and then the management will decide whether or not that is justified
