Resumo: Volunteer for art crafts

Tarefas: ·Work with children (6-14) and youth groups in art and graphic classes, decorating, creating posters, ceramics under the leadership of an art education and design specialist.
·Work on spontaneous, occasional events and summer camps.
·The volunteer shall work in the youth club in Decko. The youth club is a space for spontaneous activity of youths. The club also acts as an information centre for youths.
·The volunteer will also have space to create a project on his/her own, bringing new ideas.

Condições: The accommodation
The volunteer has his/her own room, it is fully furnished.
S/he has to share the bathroom with a washing machine and equipped kitchen (fridge, microwave, kitchen-stove, dish, electric kettle) with two other volunteers. There is an internet connection in the flat.

Meals
The volunteer will get the money for food; he/she usually prepares breakfast and supper at home and takes lunch
(the main meal of the day) in a local restaurant or in the school canteen together with staff of host organization.

Local transport
The volunteer will get money for ticket to reach the place off on-arrival training and mid-term meetings for volunteers. There is no need of any money for transport to work, every distance in Nachod it is possible reach by a walk. Decko or hosting organisation will pay the travel costs in case of a business trip or in case that volunteer will have to travel to work.

Training and support
The coordinator represents the main reference figure for the volunteer. Especially during the first weeks the coordinator stays in direct contact with the volunteer in order to facilitate the volunteer's integration in the organisation and all the matters like stay of permit, sanitary assistance and so on. Regular meetings with director should clear step by step all potential misunderstanding and differences in expectations.

The mentors
He/she will be fully at the volunteer's disposal; speaks English or German and has own experience with staying in foreign country. The Mentor represents the main contact figure to make easier communication between volunteer and other employees of Decko. It is necessary that the volunteer, for the first period of the service, will observe the daily life activities in the organisations in order to be gradually involved in the activities. Weekly meetings between the mentor and the volunteer are foreseen. In these meetings volunteer will have the chance to evaluate her progresses, propose herself and her ideas and to arrange own ideas or new activities.

Formação: What we can offer to volunteers in terms of Service and learning opportunities:
Learning opportunities
Volunteers can learn main principles of non-formal and intercultural education. Volunteers can learn how to organise free time of youth and children, how to work with disabled and people from minorities. It can bring new social skills to volunteers. Volunteers can learn how to work in team, how to organise and prepare summer camps, spontaneous and occasional events for schools and public. Volunteers can take a part on building websites and intercultural programmes. They can learn how to take care of animals and prepare technical teaching aids. Volunteers will have opportunities to become independent, responsible, active and tolerant .Volunteers will have great opportunity to learn Czech language.

Volunteer for crafts, dance, outdoor activities and community centre: Volunteers can learn how to prepare leisure time activities for children and youth in different ages, how to prepare aids for it. Volunteers will have opportunity to learn how to work with minorities, how to work with disable children. It can bring new social skills to volunteers. Volunteers will take a part of Inter cultural learning during the work in a Roma Community Centre. Volunteers will have great opportunity to learn new language, communicate with peers from different cultural background and respect them, understand the needs of local community. Volunteer will meet people from different cultures (Czech and Romanies peers and other volunteers from "Nest") and it will bring inter-cultural dimension into his/her life. Volunteers can learn how to organise and prepare summer camps, spontaneous and occasional events for schools and public. Volunteers can take a part on building websites and intercultural programmes. Volunteers will be supported by leader with pedagogic education, the main goal is to help volunteer to be independent, take responsibility of his/her decision and contribute to local community and global world.
