Resumo: The hosting organization is an educational institution that includes a primary school, a secondary and an upper-secondary level. The school is one of the oldest educational institutions in the city, which was founded in 1926. There are 985 students studying and 81 teachers working in the school at present. Most of the students come from Russian-speaking families. There are 275 pupils in primary school, 558 in basic and 152 students in upper-secondary school.
The management and the teachers support students' development by different extra-curricular activities: a theatre-club, a chess club, French classes, mechatronics and robotics. In fact, our chess players have taken first places in different Estonian and foreign chess competitions.
The hosting organization is working hard to provide their students with appropriate learning environments in order to equip them with knowledge and the 21st Century Skills for future career, personal growth, well being and active participation in the social life through innovative student-centered pedagogical approaches contextualising learning in reference to real life situations and making curriculum content more practical. The participation in various European projects broadens our staff's understanding in practices and systems in education across different European countries in order to improve methods and practices in daily teaching and learning as well as in extracurricular and project work.
This year we have started with the first English language immersion class (6th grade). Next year we are planning to open a similar class, but starting from the 1st grade. Our school takes part in a national school development programme supported by the University of Tartu. The programme is dedicated to implementation of CLIL methodology.

Tarefas: - Work assistance to the second teacher during the school breaks (active break according to the project ACTIVE School);
- Work assistance to the second teacher: sand therapy lesson (HEV students relaxing);
- Work assistance to the teacher to prepare the lessons (interactive material presenting/ assistance in preparing laboratory work);
- Outdoor lesson/excursion : to museum/art gallery (Volunteer followes a class with a teacher ) while their way
Volunteer communicates with students, helps them in some situations, meets the city environment/surroundings
- School stand design and Facebook blogging (volunteer designs school stand as well as places school news and achievements on FB page
