According to the document published in 2000, crisis is defined as the extreme situation leading to a serious alteration of the development of an EVS project. Such crisis requires an urgent reaction, though, as far as possible, it should be prevented. "
Many matters shall be taken into account to avoid risks, like, for example:
- Provide volunteers with appropriate support throughout the project (this includes sending and host organisations).
- Fluid communication between the organisations (host and sending)
- Clearly define the role and tasks of volunteers.
- Training, potential problems, illnesses, alergies,... shall be taken into account when organising tasks.
- The individual needs of volunteers will also be taken into account for food and accommodation; age and sex of volunteers will also be taken into account.
- The living conditions shall respect health and the according security rules.
- Regarding responsibility, health and security of volunteers will also be taken into account by the person responsible of the project; EVS volunteers will be provided with the information, training and means.
- The person responsible will take into account these measures for possible changes or improvements.
- EVS volunteers are responsible for their own security and health, as well as for that of the people affected by their actions at work, according to their training and the instructions received.
In case of emergency, illness, accident,...an appropriate protocol will be followed (known by volunteers since their arrival).
Formação: As this is a centre for youth, the presence of young volunteers will contribute to a greater diversity and richness of our activities.
Our main aim in hosting a European Volunteer is to promote the knowledge of Europe, and the programmes available to young people, among the young people of Vigo, and Galicia . On the other hand we believe it is a way of promoting among the European young people the knowledge and the relation with other different cultures that coexist within a same frame, Europe. We find it enriching to get to know different ways of working in the different countries from the European union.
The presence of a young European volunteer on our centre will provide a a greater diversity and wealth to the activities we offer.
