Resumo: CESIE is a non-profit, apolitical, and secular non-governmental organisation with member organizations in more than eight European countries. It was established in 2001, inspired by the work and theories of the pacifist Danilo Dolci (1924-1997). Our status as a European NGO is recognized by the European Commission.

CESIE links local, national and international contexts and is committed to stimulating development and change in cultural, educational and economic spheres through the creation and use of innovative tools and methods.The organisation is divided into five departments which work together and manage activities in their specific fields: European Cooperation, International Cooperation, Mobility, Socio-cultural Promotion and Higher education.The head office can be found in the city centre of Palermo with other offices in India, Nepal and Senegal.

CESIE coordinates the CESIE Federation which is composed of over 70 organizations throughout the world who share our mission and collaborate with us.CESIE staff is composed of 35 people at the coordinating office, located in Palermo, and a staff person for each international seat. The team has an international character being composed not only by Sicilians, but also from the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Serbia, Nepal, India and Senegal.

CESIE is therefore considered to be a very concrete and positive example of European values. Moreover, the staff is characterized by a great diversity of profiles, skills and qualifications but united by a deep sharing of ideals that lead our activities.

At the same time, CESIE relies on about fifty external experts that collaborate for specific activities in our offices: three in Sicily and three abroad. Equally important is the contribution from the dozens of interns and volunteers engaged in internships at our organization.

Perfil: Age: 18-30

Tarefas: The volunteer will support the daily activities in local centres in Palermo that works with different target groups. He will be working on supporting daily socio-recreational-educational activities in a) multicultural kinder garden hosting pupils with migrant background centre hosting people with b) psycho-physical disabilities c) association promoting solidarity markets though fair trade etc..

Condições: CESIE will provide accommodation for all the ESC volunteers. They will be hosted in different apartments located in a city center in Palermo and they will share the room with another volunteer of the same gender. Most of the local organisations that volunteers will implement their activities are located in the city center. In the case of far distances, CESIE will cover the costs for public transportation.
