Resumo: (Team volunteering project)

Youth Centre is a public body, which was established in 1998. It is an organization that mainly provides activities and support for youth, aged between 7 and 30 years.

The principal aims of the Youth Centre are:
- to provide support for youth;
- to give them opportunity to spend their free time wisely and
- to encourage them to get actively involved in a society on a local, national and international level.
To achieve these goals we run various indoor and outdoor activities, which are held by Youth Centre Domžale alone or in cooperation with other Slovenian and international organizations. Fields of activities include: educational activities, volunteer work, culture and creativity workshops, sport activities, information and consulting,
international projects, intergenerational activities, participation and active citizenship.

Perfil: - Age: 18-30
- fluent in English,
- have an interest to work with young people,
- be talkative and open minded - you will have to talk to strangers,
- be prepared to work outside.

Tarefas: More and more young people are spending their free time outside organised activities – either on the street either at home on the computers, mobile phones, tablets. The quality of these activities is
questionable. Since we as a youth centre promote opportunities for youngsters to spend their free time wisely and encourage them to take international opportunities, we have decided to organise a project, with which we will reach youngsters who are not spending their free time in the youth centre or other organised activities.
The aim of the project is to design activities for street work and implement them in the local environment. At the same time we would like to promote Youth Centre in local environment and invite youngsters to join some of centre’s programme.

The programme is following:
1st week: arrival, getting to know each other, getting to know the orgaization and youth centre, team building, introduction into youth work and street based youth work, preparation of street activities and library in the park

2nd week: preparation of street activities, preparation of intercultural activities in youth centre, street activities

3rd week: street activities, evaluation, saying goodbye

Please have in mind, that the programme can change due to the weather conditions and corona situation. In this case we will organise activites in daily centre (activities for children, renovation of daily centre etc.).

During this project volunteers will:
- get to know European solidarity corps and Youthpass;
- learn, what youth work and street-based youth work is,
- reflect on the competences gained during the project and make a self-assesment before and after the project;
- learn how to organise activities for young people;
- learn different non-formal learning and reflection methods;
- learn how to work in a groups and in intercultural environment;
- improve communication in English;
- gain social competences.

Condições: - money for the transportation (to Slovenia and local transport to come
to work);
- accomodation in hostel (including linen and towels);
- money for food expanses (140 euros);
- pocket money (4 euros/day).
