Resumo: The Austrian NGO has been active in the fields of culture and youth in a small town since 2014. On the one hand, th NGO has organised and co-hosted several Erasmus+ mobilities in Austria and partner countries. For one of their Erasmus+ mobilities, which brought together teenagers from Bosnia and Herzegovina, North Macedonia, Austria and Slovenia and focused on the understanding among nations, the NGO received the Erasmus+ Award (2015) in the category youth and education which was awarded for the first time that year. It has also been involved in youth projects funded by the city, such as its sustainable youth project.

As with other projects, this most recent project evolved from the observation of current affairs and topics that play an important role in the lives of young people. From Waste to Art incorporates aspects of the recent global environmental movement which started as local activism from the youth. Moreover, the project expands the agenda of the movement with a more educational and artistic touch and encourages the teenagers to search for creative ways of finding solutions and answers to one of the world’s biggest problems.

The NGO is a young multicultural NGO based in Austria serving the public interest and common good. We promote art, culture, cultural diversity, interculturality and intercultural dialogue. Our organisation has successfully launched the Tower of Songs, a re-occurring monthly concert series that hosts national and international musicians. It has also initiated the internationale art project See the Big Picture. Apart from its cultural activities the nGO has hosted and participated in Erasmus+ mobilities, such as Youth Exchanges, and has had four participants from European Voluntary Service so far. We organize cultural and educational projects and events to address diversity but also to contribute to the development of rural areas and give all interested groups a chance to get involved.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
We will give priority to people from remote areas, who don’t get many chances to travel abroad. We would appreciate if a volunteer has specific interest into cultural and events management, photography and graphic design. Also, s/he should be prepared to live in a small town, whereas the place is perfect for nature and hike lovers.

Tarefas: We organize cultural and educational projects and events to address diversity but also to contribute to the development of rural areas and give all interested groups a chance to get involved. A volunteer can join our small team and asisst us in all our events, exhibitions, workshops, and so on, while learning how culture centre works

Condições: The NGO organizes a room in a shared flat to secure the social needs of the volunteer. Upon your arrival in Austria, we offer to collect you from the train station in Leoben or from the airport in Vienna, depending on your arrival time. Volunteers receive a monthly food allowance as well as a monthly bus ticket according the programme guidelines. Moreover, the NGO arranges social- and leisure time activities (e.g. day trip to Vienna/Graz)
