Resumo: The organization develops rural areas across seven municipalities in Northern Finland. In this project three (3) volunteers will work in the small seaside town (25 000 inhabitants). The town is surrounded by nature and it’s history is rooted in the sailing ship era. The archipelago has become a popular destination.

Perfil: We would like to receive volunteers who are motivated to work with themes such as nature, gardening, peer guidance and event organizing. Working hours can change according to tasks, so volunteers need to be flexible. Volunteers must be prepared to live in a small city environment in Northern Finland.
Age: 18-30

Tarefas: The volunteers will be mainly working in workshops which are meant for young adults who are facing challenges with e.g. employment, education or life management. Workshops are aimed at training new skills and advancing participation. The volunteers will be primarily working in a workshop focused on nature and gardening but it is also possible to work with themes such as handicraft, media, IT and customer service.

In addition, the volunteers will be participating in planning and execution of a city festival and other events that are arranged for everyone in the city and nearby region.

The project starts in May with a virtual week. The activities in Finland start in June and end by the end of July. The exact dates will be agreed with volunteers.

Condições: Accommodation, food and transportation arrangements
Accommodation will be arranged in rental apartments (organizers will take care of the renting process). Volunteers will get staff lunch during work days but other times they need to cook for themselves (allowance will be provided).
Distances are short: main venues are mainly reachable by foot or bike. If needed, public transportation can be arranged.

Training
The volunteers will participate in an on-arrival training. The volunteers will also have a course on Finnish language. Volunteers are guided to all tasks which provide great learning opportunities.
