Resumo: The hosting organization was founded in 1990. It is a public utility umbrella organisation for youth NGOs and student NGOs (from 14 different specialities).
With 30 member organisations (2000 active young members), the organization is the most important, old and unique foundation concerning its activity, its legal provisions and its leaders profile, in this part of the country.
Our foundation is a model of democratic behaviour as well, being administrated by a General Assembly consisting of the youth NGOs in the County and a board consisting of 13 young people (aged between 18 and 35️).
We focus on youth participation, local and national youth policies and on promoting
at local, regional and national level the European values that arebso important to youth nowadays.
We have in possession the YouthnHouse (a 11.000m2 impressive building) – which, in 2018, was awarded for the second time with The Council of Europe Quality Label for Youth Centres.
WHAT DO WE WANT TO ACCOMPLISH?
• Raising awareness of the importance of voluntary activities for personal
development among the young people by presenting opportunities to volunteer at local and international level.
• Promoting inclusion and human rights education among young people by implementing weekly workshops.
• Developing skills to increase the employability of the 14 volunteers by familiarising them with youth work and youth NGOs.
• Dynamise activities in 10 different neighborhoods in the newly built youth centres, by engaging young people in non-formal education workshops regarding human rights, personal development and youth participation.
• Debating and exploring the concepts of youth participation and active citizenship at local, national and European level with young people from the marginalised neighbourhoods of Timișoara.
Perfil: • From 18 to 30 years old;
• Happy to work with youth;
• Fluent in English;
• Excited to develop new skills in organising, implementing and coordinating
different activities;
• Brave enough to move for one year in another country.
Skills needed:
• Skills that are used in youth work: tolerance, the ability to face different aspects of social life;
• Communication skills in a foreign language;
• Learning to learn competence;
• Solidarity behaviour;
• Organising capacity and coordination skills.
Tarefas: • 2 weeks for accommodation&training (accommodation with the city and the new environment; workshops, whose role is to train you on specific activities, necessary within the implementation of the solidarity activity; empowerment and community involvement activities)
• Preparing the communities for the 220 volunteers that will come to turn 10 old industrial buildings into youth centres
• Recruiting the volunteers for the short term volunteering activity
• Setting up the youth centres
• Organising activities to dynamise the youth centres (after the setting up period, you will carry out monthly informational sessions/activities about: solidarity, active citizenship, social inclusion, human rights, gender equality)
Condições: • Accommodation – you will be accommodated in 2 beds bedrooms with own bathroom and common kitchen
• The accommodation will offer washing machines, shared kitchen with dishes cups, cutlery and microwaves
• You will receive money for food (5 EUR per day) and it is up to you what you want to buy and cook
• Transportation will be covered according to project regulation (same as Erasmus+ and ESC distance band)
• Pocket money (3 EUR per day)
