Perfil: The profile of the volunteers we would like to cooperate in our organization is: · People of any sex, from different countries in Europe and of any culture, race or religion. · People with a minimum stage of maturity who are mainly raised awareness and interested in knowing the problems created by the HIV/AIDS and the drug dependences and in sharing some days of experience with these groups, and furthermore, they have a motivation to learn and/or improve the language and to know the Spanish culture.
Tarefas: All the staff who makes up the Therapeutic Team of BASIDA is formed by voluntary staff without being no contracted staff. From the beginning of the activity and as part of the ideology and of the philosophy of the body is to know how to coordinate the voluntary enlistment and unselfish dedication with the professionalism and the training; the social quality with a personalized, integral and humanized attention. Therefore the voluntary enlistment is the engine which moves each one of the programmes and projects and which makes the execution of all the activities possible which carry out from the different departments. In the Home of Aranjuez there is a coordinator of volunteering who will be responsible for accompanying and counselling volunteers and will also be the contact point between the therapeutic team and the volunteer.
Condições: The volunteers will live in the Home and can use all its facilities. They shall also adapt to the rules of the Centre and to meal times. They will be hosted in a room with bathroom (alone or shared with another volunteer)
Formação: This will be carried out between sending, coordinating and host organisation. Availability and individual characteristics will be taken into account. The volunteers will read the project carefully and they will be counselled by sending and coordinating organisations so they chose the most adequate project to their motivation and concerns. Volunteers need no specific training in social matters, but they do need to believe in people and their skills, as well as to commit with the activity they will join, as well as willing to work in a team. Listening and understanding are important for us, as well as tolerance and flexibility. This project is to be understood as an exercise of international citizenship far away from paternalistic and/or assistance attitudes.
