Resumo: The hosting organization is a Development NGO, which is non-religious, independent and pluralistic. Its first objective is to promote justice and equality.This goal commits the organization to multiple objectives: to work for peace and reconciliation, support nonviolence, and to fight against all forms of discrimination (religious, gender, social class, ethnicity etc.) to face up to the fact that at the same time as material prosperity is increasingly concentrated to the few there is growing hunger and poverty in the world, to staunchly defend the human rights of the people, to promote attitudes and policies that lead us to create responsible relationships with the environment.With these purposes the organization has developed different strategic lines, which we focus our motivations, skills and passion.

The action fields where we work on are:
1. Development of Education and Awareness: because education creates a more aware and informed generation. The organization endeavours to raise awareness of social and solidarity movements by producing educational material for people of the local community.

2. Advocacy: because we believe that the world can change. The organization puts pressure on public and private institutions, social groups and the mass media to foster equality and fairness in the world.

3. Cooperation Projects: because solidarity is justice. The organization carries out development cooperation projects in different countries in the South with the purpose of improving the life of habitants while involving them actively in the development.

4. Social Action: because there are a lot of things to do in a local territory. The organization focuses much of its work on few opportunity groups, in particular the immigrant groups.

5. International Volunteering: to understand the reality you should live it. The organization promotes its voluntary international program Acercándonos al Sur every year giving the opportunity to several volunteers to know and to work in development cooperation projects in Latin America.

With the knowledge that unity gives strength, the organization tries to maintain a network in many different fields, collaborating actively with other NGOs and participating in different campaigns, in a local, national or international level.

Perfil: Age: 18-30
Interest in the project: The volunteers have to participate fully in the project having the desire to contribute actively and agree on the organization goals connected with the social change to a sustainable development; Experiences and competences: Considering the tasks that will be assigned, the volunteer has to be perfectly able and happy to do a physical and hard work in the organic garden; Personality: Generally, we need positive, flexible and willing people able to work in-group and in a multicultural context Spanish language skills will be appreciated but they are not essential condition.

Tarefas: The main activity will be work in an urban organic garden and boosting ethical purchasing groups, contributing to awareness-raising of concepts such as responsible consumption and production. The work will be strictly physical but depending on the characteristics of the volunteer there will be space to promote a green network collaborating with other organization in educational and communication activities. Also, in according to his/her profile the volunteer will be involved in:
• Educational and Awareness activities with children and adults
• Social area supporting the immigrant population
• Administrative and Organizational tasks from the office

Condições: The volunteers will be hosted at an apartment chosen by Amycos and in accordance to the basic qualitative standards. Specifically, accommodation will be in the city (in a single room or twin room) depending on the availability. Sharing of common spaces will be encouraged with other volunteers; although the privacy of the volunteers will be respected.
Accommodation will be in charge to the organization and the volunteer to receive monthly 150 € for Food plus a pocket money of 150 €. The organization is located in a small city and it’s not necessary to use a local transport daily.
