Resumo: We started to work in 2013, implementing a rural development project with the inhabitants. As many rural areas, the town is dealing with a high rate of depopulation and offers less social and economic opportunities, especially to the young people.
Our aim is to create sustainable alternatives for the territory, working with nature, food and local ressources.
During the 2020th year, our activity was stopped drastically due to the pandemic context and now we are looking forward to bring people with ideas to action!
The organization is a village of 800 inhabitants, including a lot of hamlets. The geography of the place is remarkable: the mountains and the valleys draw a contrasted landscape of sharpness and sweetness. The climate is very strong and dry, however there is a permanent source of water, coming from the mountain and creating a local oasis! This is why the village is greener and more forested than the rest of the area.

Our activities
Our work focuses on three dimensions, that we always intent to link together in our activities.

Sustainable farming
Our production splits into two small agro ecological gardens.
We also have a shared chicken house with 10 chickens.
As the potential of the lands around is big, we also have a lot of (agroecological!) dreams such as beehives, grapes and wine, truffles, links with local restaurants etc! This year, we are willing to start a reforest action in the common lands of the valley Education, training and transmission of knowledges
As we are convinced that this territory is full of sleeping energies, we aim to spread this vision, to make people talk with each other, to bring new life and to keep the local knowledges alive.
That’s why we organize workshops of bioconstruction, gardening, personal development etc., or invite every summer artists and scientists to grow projects here. We are also involved in Erasmus + as hosting and sending organization for EVS, as organizer of youth exchanges and as part of European networks.

networking
Behind this idea, is the objective to empower people and especially young people to develop their own economic activities in the country side. This social economy is essential for the territory as it is creating value for the people and allowing them to stay (or to move to) here.
We are currently working on a project called Fermento, providing to free-lancers a shared office, visibility and a lot of motivation and support.

Tarefas: Part of the project, part of the team
We define the role of a volunteer by a proactive participation in our current activities and by an involvement in the project. By proactive, we mean that your participation should result from a positive attitude and a sense of initiatives within the philosophy and the rules of the association. We believe that the new ideas, proposals or points of view that your participation would bring into the team is a rich and precious source of inspiration. You will be supported in this inclusion process by the members of the association in general and by your tutor and mentor in particular.

The teamwork is another very important aspect of your role as an EVS: we are waiting for you to become few by few an active member of our team. Collaborative and participative work are fully part of the spirit of the association, whether inside the local communities and we’d like you to join this creative process.

The tasks
After your arrival, we will expose you the planned activities for the next months and will define globally your participation and tasks in it. During your stay as volunteer with us you'll have the opportunity
-and you'll be expected to take it- to propose your own initiatives and activities to be carried out as part of your work with the association. This can include environmental activities for children, young people, intergenerational exchanges or many others. So please feel free and open to use our facilities to think out of the box and get out of your confort zone!

You will dedicate 7,5 hours per day, 4 days per week for the association. The timetable is not fixed and will depend on the activities, but it should be 4h30 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon.
We will have a weekly meeting to share the work more precisely and to talk about the inner organization. Your tasks will be diverse and will allow you to discover the different aspects of our work.
However, there is a pattern in terms of organization which could be

summarize like this:
- You will take part in the daily routine concerning permanent activities, such as taking care of the garden and the animals.
- You will also have the occasion to collaborate in the extraactivities, such as workshops, exhibitions, participation to local markets and events etc.

Condições: About the accommodation, the first thing you need to know is that you willin a safe and comfortable place, and there will be no problems without solutions.

The house
You are going to live in a house in the village of ArbujuelYou’ll have access to internet in the house. o and each one will have his own room. There is a kitchen, two bathrooms, a living room and 4 bedrooms. You’ll have access to internet in the house. The place is clean and nice, and with a little bit of imagination, you will make it warm and friendly!

The food
You will receive every month a fixed amount of money to buy food. There are some small supermarkets in town where you will be able to buy what you need. Moreover, the garden will produce a lot of vegetables and the chicken put eggs very often. Altogether, you will not miss food! It will be up to you if you want to organize common meals or to cook for yourself.

The pocket money
You will receive every month 105€ € as pocket money. There are distributors of notes in Estacion if you need more cash.
