Resumo: The cultural centre was founded in 2010, and is located in the historical city centre, an old mining town. It has a venue, where concerts, theatre and dance performances, discussions, workshops, art residencies and festivals are organized (200 events/year). The volunteers are free to contribute to its daily operation, enjoy the program and/or initiate projects on their own. It also runs space for relaxation and free time activities in the adjacent garden (e.g frisbee, slackline). The mission of the cultural centre is to promote contemporary artists and their work, and create opportunities for engaging them in educational activities and social life. The EVS project offers learning opportunities and experience for volunteers who are interested in cultural management, technical aspects of event organisation, and the topics of arts, culture, youth work, active citizenship, democracy and community development.

The organization hosts a community-based theatre employing people with special needs. The Association for contemporary dance and physical theatre is also based here. It has managed several artistic and cultural exchange projects (Youth in Action, Erasmus+) and cooperated with a range of Slovak and international artists and institutions. It is a regular member of Association – Network for Independent Culture.

Target groups:
-general public (visiting café and cultural events, festivals, joining free time outdoor activities),
-young people / secondary school and university students (visiting cultural events, festivals, participating in workshops, volunteering during festivals and seasonal work in the garden),
-artists (performing, leading workshops),
-disadvantaged communities / Roma, immigrants, people with special needs (volunteering, visiting cultural events),
-seniors (visiting cultural events, community development projects).

Perfil: Age: 18-30
Being comfortable working as a part of a team and working with diverse groups, Having good time management skills and be able to work under supervision, Having ability to use good judgment when working with people from diverse backgrounds, considering cultural, religious and ethical standards, Being interested in learning new things (e.g. foreign language skills, communication skills, artistic and manual skills, learning skills), Being flexible and open to develop his creativity, and do-it-yourself attitude, Being open-minded, responsible, curious, and adventurous.

Tarefas: The volunteering opportunity reflects the participant's ambitions to cooperate with visiting artists, organizers and event producers.
The cultural centre offers him/her opportunities to learn new things and gain experience in the fields of technical support of events (light and sound), maintenance of the venue and surroundings. The centre offers the participant valuable experience coming from participation in some regular in-house duties and assistance tasks but also activities initiated on his/her own (organizing events, workshops, lectures, meetings etc.).

Condições: Food will be provided by the Host organization in form of cash money. The volunteer will have his/her own room in a shared flat, with all the facilities in a walking distance from the cultural centre. Travel arrangements will be provided by the Hosting organization in cooperation with the volunteer. Travel costs will be covered from the project’s budget before the volunteer arrives. In case of activities that require traveling, e.g. collaboration with NGOs from other parts of the region, attending workshops, and events organized by the National Agency, will be covered by host organisation.
