Resumo: The hosting organization is a French national non-governmental and non-profit making organization, founded in 1950 by English, German and French young people. Their vision was to enhance the values of tolerance and peace after the 2 nd world war by organizing international workcamps of young volunteers.

The main missions of the organization are the following:
❖ Education - helping young people to grow up by acquisition of collective life.
❖ Culture - favoring youth exchanges on an international level, always emphasizing the values of peace, friendship and mutual respect.
❖ Social - taking part in concrete actions of solidarity, as well as supporting a civic attitude.
❖ Social economy - contributing to realization of local development, in favor of the environment, patrimony, tourism and socio-educational animation.

Tarefas: From October to June, the volunteer will have the opportunity to work with children and teenagers in different structures that need support around the town. During this project the volunteer will change structures several times, meet different people and to see different ways of working. In addition, volunteers can participate in promoting youth engagement and promoting the link between youth structures in the area. The project is organised by the organization in partnership with the compounded communities of 7 different villages.

The main task of the volunteer is to work with children and teenagers during their free time in leisure centers, to do activities with them and let them discover the country of the volunteer. Secondly, the volunteer informs and promotes the different possibilities and structures of youth engagement in the area by doing interviews, writing an article, etc. The aim through this project is to bring openness to the people who are in contact with the ESC volunteer and to promote youth engagement in the area.
Moreover, we encourage volunteers to develop a personal project besides their initial missions.

In particular the activities are:
➢ Helping out the team in the leisure center, the welcoming place before and after school and the youth center.
➢ Organize activities with the children or youth about the country or the passion of the volunteer (cooking, relaxation, hip hop, manual activities…)
➢ Participate in outdoor activities with them
➢ Participate in all meetings with the team
➢ Participate and promote activities around youth engagement in the area
➢ Being involved in the life of the association

The detailed activities will be proposed by the volunteer according to his/her skills and interests and with the support of the pedagogical team. The project will also allow the volunteer to know and develop new pedagogical techniques in terms of work with children and youth.

As we believe that doing an CES is also to be involved in the activities of the association, we invite the volunteers to take part to the local events and activities that the organization and the area organizes (Organization of the Christmas market, support to the local fair trade grocery shop, opening days, special associative days or weekend organized by others volunteers, helping in the garden of the association…).

In July and August the volunteer will participate in the workcamps with the organization as a co-leader or leader. Indeed, the workcamps are the historic activities of the organization and it is important for us that the volunteers get involved in the workcamps activities.

Condições: Working Hours :
The volunteer will work approx. 32 hours per week. The hours of work can be organised in different ways: (During the school holiday the volunteer will probably work 48 hours per week during two weeks but during the school time the volunteer will work about 25 hours per week.

Working and living conditions :
Accommodation will be provided. The volunteer will be accommodated in an own room in the house of the organization, next to the offices of the association, with 4 or 5 other volunteers. The volunteers will have to adopt a collective life which means cook and eat together, propose activities in group and participate in the associative events that we organize once a month in the house of the volunteers.
The volunteer will get pocket money (5€ per day) and money for food (7,50€ per day). Internet is available in the house but it’s better to bring your own laptop.
It is also important to know that the same house is also used by the association to organize events but also by people involved in our local activities. By living in the house, you will meet a lot of new faces!

Transports :
There is few public transport in this area, it is possible to find bicycles and the volunteer will have access to the car of the association to go to work and to do some shopping for the house.
