Resumo: The Center for Social Education is a non-profit organization founded in 1998 as a legal entity in the Republic of Croatia aiming at working on the development of civil society through youth and community work. Target groups are young people and other target groups that have an impact on raising the quality of life of young people. The main areas of activity are: Education for work with young people in the community; Supporting and setting up youth clubs and setting up and implementing youth information and counseling activities through youth info centers; Support to other organizations; Coaching activities based on non-formal education and working methods; Developing youth policies and strategies; Development of voluntarism, etc.
The Center has 9 employees, 47 volunteers and 40 members. The staff is highly educated, with university education for Youth and Community Leadership at the University of Jonkoping, Sweden, and most have many years of coaching experience (preparation and implementation of training, workshops, focus groups, round tables, presentations, etc.) in the field of youth work and work with youth workers.
Perfil: We are looking for young people up to 30 years old from one of the European countries who are communicative, open to cooperation, creative, self-initiated. Also, we expect a high motivation to practical work on ground and learning in area of sustainable development. Simple and pleasant approach to the people, especially young as a target group during performing tasks, especially during online promotional activities (brochures, articles, video materials). Also, willingness for further development and learning is desirable attitude, especially if needed for quality improvement.
Tarefas: With the project, which we will implement in the city, we want to inform, educate and empower young people to participate in activities that promote sustainable development and the Global Sustainable Development Goals.
In order to achieve this goal, the Center in cooperation will work on greater orientation of young people to sustainable development, awareness of multidimensionality and connection of sociocultural and natural components. sustainable development in a community that is traditionally associated with coexistence with nature, work on the land and food production.
Main activities:
1) Preparation and implementation of promotional activities related to sustainable development goals - by writing articles for the website of the Regional Youth Info-Center; making videos on the same topic and promoting them through social networks; campaigns in accordance with current processes in the community and at the national and international level, production and distribution of various promotional materials;
2) Preparation and implementation of outdoor activities (outdoor classroom and practical work on the ground) - In collaboration with volunteers of the Youth Info-Center, members of the non-formal youth initiative who carry out various activities for young people, once a month they will have an activity (lecture, discussion, workshop) on the topic of sustainable development intended for young people.
Preparation and implementation of outdoor workshops in the outdoor classroom - on various topics of sustainable development. Workshops will be prepared together with the members of Young Ecologists of the Technical School and the High School of Natural Sciences, promoting the importance of the principles of sustainable development in the educational process. The workshops will be intended for young people.
practical work on the ground - for the purpose of learning and promoting local consumption and food production together with interested students once a week, in order to help members of Iskra in tillage and cultivation of horticultural crops, which in accordance with the principles of sustainable development are organically produced and distributed within communities;
3) Promotional activities related to the project - Participants will continuously carry out various promotional activities related to the project, eg. writing articles about the project, personal presentations of the results of activities, press releases, making videos ...
Condições: Volunteers will be accommodated in a rented house or a flat suitable for 2 persons, near our office and vacancy place. Besides covered costs for living, each volunteer will receive monthly allowance for food in amount of 150,00 euro in Croatian kuna (HRK) for buying and preparing food, as well as additional pocket money in amount set by European solidarity program guide to the standards of living in Croatia which is amount of 5 euro per day in HRK.
