Resumo: The coordinating organization is a non-profit organization based on Christian values that provides services in the area of social work, health and education. The coordinating organization target groups are primarily people with disabilities, the elderly, the homeless, disadvantaged children, minorities and others in need. Presently, the coordinating organization runs more than 60 centres employing over 600 people, delivering services to almost 8000 users. The centres comprise of dormitories, day-cares, schools, shelters and training flats. The scope of SD activities also involves counselling and field work related to issues such as domestic violence, alcohol and drug abuse, exclusion of minorities or institutional care of children. Integration to society and access to open labour market are significant objectives when working with people with disabilities.
In the context of European Voluntary Service, the organization has the role of the coordinating organization. It believes that Erasmus + programme is an invaluable source of learning opportunities for everyone involved within the process. Above all, SD emphasizes the importance of informal education and encourages volunteers to work consciously on their professional, personal and spiritual development.
Perfil: As a volunteer, you need to be open person with a good relationship with the target group in our schools. The children have a various type of disbility, therefore you should be patient, responsible and able to react quickly in some crisis situations. you also need to be communicative, proactive and able to work in team.
Age: 18-30
Tarefas: The school provides children and pupils with special education needs with an education in a kindergarten, primary school and secondary school. Activities usually vary according to the level of pupil´s disabilities however your main taskswill be the following:you will accompany and assist immobile pupils during movements within the school premises and during trips and events organized by the school. You will assist teachers and pupils during english lessons and educational programmes adapted for pupils with special education need such as drama activities, art lessons, dressing training, walks, locomotor skills games, working with an interactive board, working on a PC, singing, listen to relaxation music, you will help pupils to play musical instruments. you will have an opportunity to work with educational tools adapted for children with limited fine motor skills. Furthermore, you will motivate our children in training for personal hygiene, dining and helping to feed pupils, if needed.
