Resumo: The coordinating organization is a non-profit organization based on Christian values that provides services in the area of social work, health and education. The coordinating organization target groups are primarily people with disabilities, the elderly, the homeless, disadvantaged children, minorities and others in need. Presently, the coordinating organization runs more than 60 centres employing over 600 people, delivering services to almost 8000 users. The centres comprise of dormitories, day-cares, schools, shelters and training flats. The scope of SD activities also involves counselling and field work related to issues such as domestic violence, alcohol and drug abuse, exclusion of minorities or institutional care of children. Integration to society and access to open labour market are significant objectives when working with people with disabilities.

In the context of European Voluntary Service, the organization has the role of the coordinating organization. It believes that Erasmus + programme is an invaluable source of learning opportunities for everyone involved within the process. Above all, SD emphasizes the importance of informal education and encourages volunteers to work consciously on their professional, personal and spiritual development.

Perfil: you should be open to work with the target group of teenagers and young adults and be pro-active, being able to apply some of your own skills. we will greatly appreciate it if a volunteer can play some of the musical instruments. we also need the ability to communicate and for the volunteer not to be too shy to talk. you should be able to learn Czech language fast. Creativity, art talent (drawing, cutting, gluing, manufacturing), working with a PC (at leat word and Power Point) are also appropriate.
Age: 18-30

Tarefas: the low-threshold centre for children and youth in the region offers after school activities for children and youth aged 6-20. The service tries to achieve positive changes in the lives of children and youth, provide information, professional assistance and support in difficult life situations, as well as conditions for establishing new conatcts, thus preventing the children and youth from being socially excluded. The objective of the service is to guide children and young people through the period of their adolescence, showing them alternative solutions for their situation and alternative leisure time activities, thus creating suitable conditionsfor their healthy development and personal growth. You will participate in the usual activities offered by the centre (for exampletable football, board games, conversations). your taskwill be the preparation and implementation of group activities for service users. Presentation of various features of volunteer´s native country (cuisine, education system, institutions, leisure time activites, plays and games typical for the country, etc.) will also play a part. Teachinga foreign language (english or the volunteer´s native language) in an entertaining manner would be welcome. Tidying-up with service users is expected.
The volunteer will prepare a mini project according to their interests.
