Resumo: World Summit Youth Award selects and promotes best practice in e-Content and technological creativity, demonstrates young people’s potential to create outstanding digital contents and serves as a platform for people from all UN member states to work together in the efforts to reduce poverty and hunger, and to tackle ill-health, gender inequality, lack of education, lack of access to clean water and environmental degradation.
WSYA is therefore both a showcase to the world for young designers, technologists and e-Content creators, and a global scale contribution to reducing poverty, protecting the environment, sharing knowledge and empowering young people.

The project team of the ICNM will 2012 be working on the following two projects:
World Summit Mobile Award
The World Summit Award Mobile (WSA-Mobile) is a global initiative to select and promote the world’s best in mobile content and innovative applications within the framework of, and in cooperation with, the United Nations’ World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), mandated by the WSIS Plan of Action and executed in collaboration with UNESCO, UNIDO and UN GAID.

Perfil: The associationis interested in young persons who are interested to bring their social and cultural experience into international projects (English speaking preferred). We expect volonteers who are willing to learn and who have a general interest in new media and e-contents.

Tarefas: The volonteer will have the possibility to join the project teams of all the activities. The team members will show him/her how to plan, organize and execute international projects in the field of e-content evaluation. The volonteer can support the team in different fields and steps of the projects: administration, marketing, communication, event organisation, reporting These activities can be: communicating with producers interested in participating in the contest; controlling the producers database; checking entries; giving support to update the project websites; take part in organizing events in different countries (e.g. Mexico, India, UAE, …) Examples of general work tasks: • Support of daily business, such as writing emails to partners, former winners and network members of all different projects (WSA, WSYA, WSA-mobile), answering general requests regarding the competitions (via email and phone), follow-up with applicants • Updating project websites (WSA, WSYA, WSA-mobile) regarding: content (news, press clippings) and profiles (experts, winners, ambassadors, board members) • Organizing press clippings (saving, printing, archiving) • Contact database: adding new contacts, updating existing contacts • Research: finding new outreach partner and other partner organizations worldwide • Updating marketing materials • Organizing photo archive • Preparing contest statistics (for all projects)
