Resumo: The Association is a hosting, sending and co-ordinating EVS party. We have received numerous volunteers from a number of European countries since 2013. We aim to host several volunteers each year. Their time of residence varies from half a year to one year. As a sending organization we offer also the Finnish Youth a chance to volunteer through the Erasmus+ programme. In addition, when needed, we co-ordinate with other hosting EVS parties’ projects which also represent ecological values.

The objective of the association is to promote holistic ecological lifestyle and global sustainable development, as well as to encourage communality. The fulfilment of these aims is a major part of the everyday life in the village, where the association operates and which also acts as a home to its members and the volunteers alike. In practise, ecology and sustainable development is implemented through biodynamic cultivation, pure nutrition and ecological building and living. Biodynamic agriculture is a comprehensive cultural impetus, that organically connects the people, the animals and the cultivation, and it is carried out in a biodynamic farm that functions alongside the village.

The buildings of the eco-village are renovated and constructed using organic, breathable materials and honouring the traditions of Finnish rural construction.Communality is fostered and developed in the village by e.g. joint meetings, practical projects, work bees, celebrations, common dinings and free-time activities. These distinctive activities are motivated by a desire to create a new kind of social culture. Cherishing multiculturalism and creating international connections both at grass-roots- and in a more official level are important aspects in reaching this goal. The residents of the eco-village are members of the association and share the common values of the village. The target group of our operation includes everyone who shares our values and aims or is interested in getting to know them and the ecological and communal way of life. We function in the close-by environment as well as in international platforms, as the themes we represent connect people over borders. Our village welcomes different kinds of visitor groups and we arrange cultural events that are open for everyone to attend (seasonal celebrations, art performances, children’s events), as well as different courses and educational occasions. The farm also receives students and trainees of the field. Our association is religiously and politically uncommitted.

Tarefas: The objective of the organization is to vivify the country side life in many ways, promote holistic ecological lifestyle and global sustainable development, as well as to encourage communality, be open for surroundings and cooperate local, national and international ways. The fulfillment of these aims is a major part of the everyday life in the village, where the association operates and which also acts as a home to its members and the volunteers alike. We wan to to make us well known in town among all citizens and support the tolerance and strengthen the communality.

We enrich culture inside our village and larger community surrounding. With the help of the 6 volunteers we keep international summer cafeteria which has became very important thing in Vesilahti. We also need help to arrange small and big happenings, making visits, taking care of visitors, providing healthy food from the field to the table. In our project volunteers also participate to ecological farming and building, and share the community tasks. In this project we will arrange happenings also in the winter time. Bringing life and joy for people into the long dark days in the countryside. In this project we will continue to co-operate with the surrounding community and organizations. All work in our organisation is run voluntarily by it`s members and the needed help of six international volunteers gives us possibility to reach our aims. We offer volunteers opportunities to learn to live and work together with different kind of people respecting each other as equal.

Volunteers can get experiences of empowerment from community life, sharing and helping each other in everyday life. Project gives volunteers a possibility for up to 8 months EVS period and many ways to learn and work. They get wider picture of the Finnish society and the surrounding community.
Volunteers will give an international input to the local community, such as schools and youth clubs, by taking part in their activities. By doing multiple work one can learn many new skills and own strengths. We focus on cultivating of ourselves and land. Six volunteers from different countries, men and women, living and working 8 months in a Finnish eco-village. That gives huge opportunities and possibilities for everyone. We spread our project's impact and the international input to the surroundings e.g. by keeping blog, Insta, visiting schools and youth clubs, keeping open workshops and seminars. With these possibilities of co-operation we hope to promote the EVS and Erasmus+ as great opportunity for young people, organisations and communities.

Horário: 6-8 hours of work per day, 5 days per week and two consecutive days off per week. 2 days of holiday accumulating per month for the duration of the project and half of the holidays will be taken in the very end of the stay.
