Resumo: The Family House is a transition hosting place addressed to youth under 18, to make them experiment a significant educational and emotional experience. It aims to be a short experience to the youth that arrive in the house but relevant in term of growth and self-awareness.
It's not a simple assistance service, but an opportunity of common life, full for the emotional and relational point of view, an existential place of practice to support the process of facing difficulties, and enhance self-knowledge, and personal growth, try to turn away the wounds left by the past experiences that bring the youth to be estrange from the
family.

Perfil: The project is open to two volunteers, possible female and male, coming from different cultural and social background. Address to youth between 18 and 30 year old interested to get to know the Italian contest of family house for minors that have sensitiveness and the will to estabilish a relationship with youth with fewer opportunities coming from family and social difficult situations. The process of selection of the volunteers will be supported by the sending organization that will be responsible of the research process.

In the process of selection the motivation to be involve in the specific project will be relevant.
Probably this project could be particularly interesting for those youth studying psychology or education because could represent an experience in the field, but we do are open to any volunteer background and profile.

Tarefas: The volunteers will be actively involved in the management and the life of the family house.
The hosting of volunteer in the service is a big opportunity for the youth in the house to get in contact with peer coming from different cultural and social background and receive positives inputs, new point of views a motivation to confrontation.
The host of European Volunteer it means for the youth and the educator to introduce in the house new dynamics, a news, an opening toward inter culture, diversity and an external input to sort out from misleading social situations.
The volunteer represents an added value in the education project, a positive impact on the youth of the house, that are continually looking for model to emulate, new element of comparison, an incitement in the process of build a personal project.

For this reason, volunteers will be involved in the following tasks:
- cooperative care and management of the house, common places, garden
- aid and support to homework’s
- sport activities
- organization of fund raising activities
- organization of activites
- proposition of persona activities
- planning and management of free time activities
- cooperative preparation of meals
- shopping for the house and the food

The house is a place of Hight social learning were youth from difficult background, where they learn to overcome their difficulties and pains. They learn to get involved and engagedand put together the different that they will need to build their future of social and work integration.
It is an educational place where the responsibility to others and the personal care are at the first place.

The volunteer will be involved in this big family and they will learn to live together the moment of life with the youth of the house.
The involvement of the EVSs include the management of the house to support the wellness of the youth, and the active participation in different activities where the volunteers can find their place and propose activities themselves to involve the group in new experiences.

It is a voluntary service with Hight emotional and social value where the EVS will learn: simplicity, mutuality, cooperation, comparison, sense of family, sense of suffer and help.
Cultural learning: an opportunity of exchange, openness, a blow of intercultural to those youth that have more difficulty to travel, exchange, get to know new context and situation.
Social learning: an opportunity to build a relationship with youth coming from difficult back ground, emotionally fragile, ready to receive and share hope, happiness and good will

The volunteer will learn

- to have deeper knowledge about the Italian family house service
- to be aware about the benefit
- to be actively involve in the project, implementation and evaluation of activites for the
youth
- to face situation of social disease

Horário: The project is composed of 34 hours week activities, 5 days of work 2 day of free time per week from Monday to Friday.
The volunteer collects to 2 days of holiday each month.
The volunteers will respect an alternating timetable one week following the morning, one the afternoon schedule.
