Resumo: The Child Day Care centre was established in 1997. Since that time many children from multi-problem families and their family members received different help according to needs: food, clothes, activities for children, events and etc. The main aim of organisation is to provide complex social services for children. About 30 children from multi-problem families are coming in day care centre, where they have lunch, receiving help in doing homework, social workers organize their leisure time and activities, helps in social skills development and to solve different kind of problems. Children are included in a different activities, often depends on season: at autumn-winter spending time more inside the centre, making indoor activities, like learning songs with church choir, making handiwork, cooking lessons, celebrating events, playing board games and etc.; spring-summer season is often more full of physical activities, spending more time outside, organizing games and competitions, participating in outdoor activities together with other child day care centres, travels and etc.

In centre are 2 social workers, 2 volunteers and about 1 student-trainee (social workers, social educators) making practice at centre.

Perfil: We don't have special expectations for volunteers background. More important is the wish, motivation to work with children and general understanding about particularity of work. It is preferable that the volunteer wouldn’t have any harmful habits or addictions, which would influence nurturing of the kids.

Tarefas: Volunteers role at the Day Care Centre would be social worker’s assistant. Volunteers will be involved in everyday life and activities in centre by learning how to work with children of social risk environment and from multi-problem families. Social worker would be every time near the volunteers to help, consult, solve problems, suggest and etc., it means that volunteers wouldn't be completely responsible for the children and there’ll be always worker to assist in difficult situations. Volunteers role and activities will depend much on their own vision, personal features, abilities and sense. Hopefully volunteers will help to organise different activities for children, assist in teaching children social skills and help social workers in general.

The Child Day Care centre creates microclimate favorable to being yourself and openness to the others, which makes easier for volunteers to adapt and find their place. At working place volunteers will not take final responsibility. Volunteers don’t stay alone with children in the centre, there’s always professional worker around, who helps to manage stressful situations and also provides consultations on pedagogical issues, personal support. Volunteers are introduced to safety rules, agreements and important things to know about specific things before they start, in order to prevent misunderstandings and to ensure fluent volunteers integration. In case of crisis we will cooperate with coordinating organisation, mentor and sending organisation in order to take all possible steps before the peak of the crisis occur.
