Resumo: The House is working to include asylum seekers and immigrants into Danish society and introduce them to democracy. We believe this is best learned through contact with Danes and practical democratic processes.

Our main target group is asylum seekers (many of whom currently stay in asylum centres across Denmark) and immigrants who are new to Danish society and culture. All age groups are welcome and we have activities for everyone. Each Monday the programme for the week is announced and the programme changes from week to week. Some of our regular activities include workshops on art, democracy, democracy, rights for asylum seekers, journalism, and various crafts (these include a hair salon, a tailor, massage and yoga). We also teach Danish, English, Arabic, Kurdish, French, Dari and Pashtoo on a regular basis.

Perfil: age: 20-30

Tarefas: The activities of the volunteer will to a large degree depend on the volunteer him/herself. However, having a volunteer who have dedicated about 25 hours a week for 6-12 months means, that he/she can take on some of the management’s responsibilities. These responsibilities include being either the first to come to the house or the last. The volunteer will also be able to learn practical skills depending on which activities he/she will choose to get involved with
