Resumo: The Association is a grass roots organization and the members come from several society groups like university, high school students but also less educated young Roma. Our motto is “See beyond prejudice”. It was founded in 2007 at the initiatives six Romani students as an informal group and in august 2008 become an official NGO.

The association is based in Romania. However this is the under development region of the state this town plays an important role in the Romania cultural and economical life. Five percent of the Romanian Roma live there.
We aim to Fight prejudices against Roma by the following :
• showing alternatives paths for better life for Romani Youth
• Encouraging Roma Girls to become models and to involve in project management
• enhancing Roma identity in Romani Youth by giving knowledge of Romani culture and history
• offering a chance for the Romani Youth to share their cultural heritage and other values of the Romani Community with others from Roma youth, other Romani communities and non-Roma also
• making a forum for the youth to express their opinions, thoughts and expectations from the minority’s life
• Improving the non-Roma perception about Roma by good examples of Roma and not Roma cooperation on different topics like: antidiscrimination, culture and diversity.

Perfil: age: 17-30

Tarefas: A big part of their activity will be in school’s club “heart to heart” which have everything is needed for nice conditions. The volunteer will work 5 days a week, approximately 35 hours. He/she would work together with partner schools where young people are learning different languages and history of Europe as well as basic writing and reading but using non formal activities. He/she will make trips and visits with them, organize different happenings (together with other staff) and do activities with them.

The volunteer can also work in the association’s international department with other young people for recruiting international and preparing youth exchanges. If the volunteer has some special hobbies or skills those can be included to the program. Volunteers will participate in the activities promoted by the association, as, for instance, the organization of special events as concerts, parties, debates, administrating the different courses (ethnic music, Roma/romanian dances, etc; the volunteers will also be expected to promote and organize events and activities related to their nationality (for example dinner parties with typical national food or discussions about topics that concern the given country). For example, concerning the organization of the events, the tasks of the volunteers could be: to make presentation of the association activity, to prepare the informative material about the event. Moreover, the volunteers will be involved in the promotion and diffusion of European projects, especially “hart to hart club,” among the young members of the association, the local realties and the neighbouring villages, to give young people of the local community the possibility of getting to know new opportunities .

Volunteer’s help could be very useful to bring new ideas and contacts. The volunteers will also participate in the everyday activities of the organization, such as helping with the administration and the work of the secretariat, giving information via e-mail and telephone. These tasks will constitute about 10 % of the job of the volunteer. The typical day starts at 9.00 and ends at 16.00 o'clock. Lunch time will be 12-13. At the morning 9.00-11.00 the volunteer will be assisting teachers and students being in part of workshops in the club three days per week. The volunteer will for an example help the youngsters to arrange, workshops, excursions and exhibitions. More details you will find in the attached weekly program.

The volunteer will help with all the practical work as well as give new ideas for the youngsters how to work with such subjects. After lunch the volunteer will work for an example in youth clubs, in youth centres or "afternoon clubs" in schools. The work can for an example be arraigning activities for the youngsters, helping them with their homework, playing games, arraigning sport activities or arraigning workshops like painting, music, singing etc. The work can be arranged according to the skills and wishes of the volunteer. If the volunteer likes s/he can take part in some specific project in the youth houses or in the youth centre. This means that s/he can together with other people plan, organize and realize some kind of happening. These happenings can for an example be different kind of courses, camps, exhibitions etc. The volunteer will have holiday as students for Christmas, eastern, summer and weekends are free (if working on weekend’s free-time will be given during the week-time.)
