Resumo: Part of the nature reserve, the town is a little town of 5000 inhabitants, accessible by train. This little mountain town boasts of an hospital, a high school, an art house, an independent bookshop, a theater, an important associative network. The town is part of an innovative area aiming for the balance between ecological, social and economical
development. The area aims to be a rural pilot territory on a european scale.

The school is situated next to the town, accessible on foot or by bike. The school sets in a one-story house, surrounded by a large closed garden, on the riverside.
The volunteer is accomodated inside the school house, in an independent room, with access to the school kitchen. He/she cooks for him/herself on mornings and some evenings. The volunteer takes lunch with the children and the teaching team on school days. He/she is invited on a regular basis to go and eat at members of the association's house.
He/she is self-sufficient with transport (foot, bike or train).
The school is a non-smoking space.

Perfil: The volunteer works according to the school schedule from 8:30 to 16:30 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. He/she works a maximum of 35 hours per week. He/she comes to support the school team by participating to the everyday life activities :
- care of children, helping with dressing/undressing, putting their shoes on and off, bathroom, hand washing, etc.
- presence during class : setting up of activities, tidying up.
- if the volunteer wishes it, he/she can propose activities in any field he/she feels comfortable with : outdoor
activities, arts, music, sport.

He/she animates 2 or 3 workshops per week, so they may discover his/her mother language and culture through different shapes : songs, rhymes, reading, playing, cooking... He/she can be supported by a team member to set up these workshops.
The volunteer can develop his/her own project, according to his/her competences, his/her personal and professional wishes, with the agreement of the school team. For example, didactic garden, medicinal plants, wild plants, fruits could be the support for the project.

We are looking for a european volunteer (male or female)
- age:17-30
- enthusiastic to be working with 3 to 6 aged children,
- who applies respect for him/herself, respect for others, and respect for environment in his/her everyday life,
- enthusiastic to share with young children his/her language and culture,
- sensitive to environmental education questions,
- independent since he/she is accomodated inside the school house, cooks for him/herself and is self-sufficient regarding transport (foot, bike or train).
It would be ideal to get in contact with a sending organization which works in children areas.

Tarefas: The volunteer accompanies the children all along the day. He/she develops many capacities among ability to listen, patience, goodwill, disponibility et diplomacy.
The volunteer is accompanied by the team who provides all necessary support to his adaptation.
The volunteer develops several core competencies that will be valued in his/her Youthpass validation certificate :
- communication in a foreign language: knowledge of specific vocabulary, practise of spoken and written French, and a possible weekly language course.
- social and relationship skills: be at ease with the audience, exchange and interact with people from different backgrounds
- sense of initiative: ability to develop leadership, to gain confidence in him/herself and develop autonomy in the management of certain tasks (see below).
The volunteer has the opportunity to be initiated to Montessori pedagogy by a Montessori teacher. The volunteer participates to the environmental education workshops on many themes like the garden, the farm, the river, the forest, the mountain... These workshops are a good way to meet the local actors of the environmental welfare : farmers, shepherds, forest rangers, etc.
He/she takes lunch together with the children and the team, which is also a pedagogical time.
