Resumo: The host organization has an office, but activities take place many places within the community. The volunteer will have an office facility at our office. The office hours are 09:00-15:00, but work hours are flexible. The volunteer will work some evenings on regular basis. Occationally work at week ends. We have no cafeteria at work, so we use packed lunch.

The volunteers will work in different activites and so will work with quite a few people, people of different ages and backgrounds.

The community is close to the city, but still has a distinct atmosphere of living in the country side. The volunteers will have a transportation card for the whole community and the Oslo area. The ferry to the city takes about 22 minutes.

The town is great for outdoors activities: forrest walks, picking berries, fishing, swimming in the sea or lakes, swimming pool with limited hours, cross country skiing + we have a small down hill skiing facility. Several sports clubs, bands/orcestras and choirs. Nesodden have some shops and restaurants, but there are no vibrant nightlife.

We focus on keeping the hours and our appointments.
The volunteers will live at host families. We set up some house rules. The volunteers are supposed to do chores as a family member pluss take care of cleaning his/her own room and laundry.
The volunteers will go to language class, probably three mornings every week, from August through December. They are expected to learn Norwegian.

Perfil: - stay for 11 months: early August to late June
- must be positive to stay at host family
- must aim to learn Norwegian as soon as possible
- positive and active about starting activitie(s) connected to their personal interest, skillls and experience, such as arts and crafts, language class, sports etc
- be flexible about tasks, hours ...
- be reliable, accurate and punctual
- we want two volunteers at the same time, and expect them to work together and to support each other at work and spare time
- must be willing to contribute and have a sense of humour

We pick our volunteers by closely reading the applications and reflect on who we think will suit best for the activities and plans we have. Two or three persons work together to try to find out which volunteers will most likely help us make a winn-winn-situation.
We have not any spesific request for the sending organizations.

Tarefas: We expect our volunteers to:
- learn Norwegian from class and activities
- learn Norwegian culture from host family and activities
- learn Norwegian family life from living with host family
- by working and communicating with people of different ages and backgrounds, learn different skills and learn from other people’s experiences
