Resumo: The host organization has been working in an integral program which consists of promoting Intellectual disabled people for ages. Working in the area where they live, improving the integration and quality life. Therefore, the volunteers will be living in the same geographical social and economic area.

The users live in a region which it is in the north-west. The region is formed by eleven town councils. There are remarkable lacks in the access to small villages, due to the infrastructures.
Nowadays, the demographic situation is characterized by a population decline, the aging, low birth and the people concentration around the council in the last decades.

The most outstanding problem by social agents is an increase in the unemployment rate, moreover the population decrease and the aging little attention on elderly people, lack of immigrant social integration and people with disabilities, not much cultural offer, working alternatives and social services.
A rural region, with all these difficulties and a low financial level, justifies a right treatment of the diversity by The organization contributing to compensate the variable differences which originate disadvantages situations and differences.

Volunteer hosted by the organization will be accommodated in a flat where all the basis services will be covered.
The organization, the ocuppational center for intelectual disabled people, where volunteers will develop their tasks, is open from Monday to Friday from 10.00 to 17.00 . Summer time, July and August will be opened from 10.00 to 14.00. Volunteers will perform their tasks at the same time. Extra entertainment activities out of time, won´t never be more than 30 hours a week.They will have spare time at the weekends. They will also have one month on holidays per year, which will be proporcionated to the time the volunteer spends here.

Perfil: Volunteers who apply for the post should gather the following characteristics:
• Aged between 18 and 30.
• Open mind and sociable people
• Patients without prejudices towards disabled people.
• With initiative
The selection process will be open and clear. The EVS work will be accessible to all younger. In the organization we will welcome any volunteer. It does not matter the type of organization he/she comes from.

Tarefas: The entity offers to the volunteers:

• An intercultural learning experience, immersed in the rural inland Galicia, based on the equality principles and integration of disadvantaged collectives, especially intellectual disabled people.
• Active participation, proposing, running our integral program.
• Obtaining experience as an educator, non formal, of the collectives of disabled people.
• Creating new social relationships.
• Learning new languages (Spanish, Galician).

The volunteers` role will be of company. Supporting all the activities, which are carried out in the centre. They will be able to propose new activities, improvements or modify the programs.

Volunteers will be able to participate in all the centre activities.
• Leisure and free time Activities (games, swimming pool, camping, cinema, theatre, walks…) Going to the cinema with the users, for example.
• Formative activities (reading, writing, adults education, social skills, daily routine skills…) Examples: Giving support to the users in the adult education classes, going shopping with are of the users.
• Occupational Activities (painting, seam forming, mechanic…) Examples: supervising the user works, helping the users with their duties.
• In addition, they will be able to suggest new activities and they will be given a space inside the schedule to carry them out.
