Resumo: We live in a small Estonian town on the bank of the river. It is the northen-east of our country. 95% of population in the county is Russian speaking people. At the estuary of the River lies a resort town.
In comparison to the rest of the country our region has great deal of unemployment. Economical status of the city is decreased.
We run our activities in a private house. The building of our centre is located in a very beautiful place near a large garden with historical buildings and monuments.
Most activities that the volunteer will be responsible for would be done in direct contact with clients in the centre. The volunteer will be involved into visits to other social centres in our country. The volunteer will be also inspired to participate in VitaTiim’s activities.

Living conditions:
On our side we offer a volunteer 3-roomed apartment, not far from our centre and the city centre, which he/she will share with other EVS volunteers participating in projects of VitaTiim NGO. The apartment is totally equipped including washing machine.
Working place:
Centre owns a house with a ground floor and attic. There are six rooms for clients in the building, one is the main hall for doing common activities, another room is for youngsters, where are two computers and developing games. Also there is a bed room for those clients who need to rest. Two rooms for individual classes. The building has a kitchen, storerooms with all needed tools for teaching clients daily skills such as cooking, washing, keeping the area in order. The volunteer will be welcomed to be a part of all our working team and will have a personal place for working with a computer.

Perfil: We expect a creative, open-minded Volunteer, sympathysing people with special needs. It’s also preferable to have some previous experience in working with disabled people, as this is going to be of a great support for the volunteer to integrate in the service activities.

We pay attention that help in the activities does not mean full responsibility of the whole process, we mainly expect fresh ideas and encouragement for the clients of our centre.

There is no difference for us what is the nationality and age of the Volunteer. We are open for co-operation and communication with any person that shows interest in our activities and is ready to assist, be involved and cooperate.
We consider a SO as the one, who is responsible for the Volunteer’s decency and understanding of the programme and his/her role in it. It is very important for us that the SO keeps in close contact with the Volunteer not only before the participation in the project but also within it.

Age: 17-30

Tarefas: The activities the Volunteer could be involved in:
- leisure time arrangement, participating in all kinds of activities the clients have, feeding, walking, cleaning the rooms
– there are stuff responsible for that, and volunteer is expected to be an assistant in the team, participation in discussions, summer camp, writing joint projects. The experience working with mentally and physically disabled people may surely help the volunteer to prioritize her values and find the further direction of her life, profession, what the volunteer would do as an active citizen of her society. Getting the knowledge of social work system in Estonia will help the volunteer to analyze and compare this work with her own country and contribute into social work coming back home. Thanks to the experience offered by LAD the volunteer will be more tolerant and will hopefully gain mutual understanding with people with fewer opportunities.

The NGO is expecting the contribution from the volunteer side into its work development, fresh ideas and techniques of holding the classes. The clients of the centre will be aware of the other country’s traditions and culture, what will help them to realize their own and that they are the representatives of local society, they are a part of it. Hosting a volunteer is the possibility for social inclusion of people with special needs.
