Project will be held in the main Office of Order of Malta in the city centre. Inside the building there is one of the children Day Care Centres, Management Office, kitchen with full cooking facilities. There is a Common Room for the meetings or training. There is also a Youth Volunteers’ Office where the volunteers will get their own space. The organization is located in the main street in the city centre near the old town. There will be also some activities outside the Office, e.g. visiting of elderly people or children, etc. The volunteers will work together with base staff of the organization as well as young local volunteers.

Perfil: Our organization strives to be open to everybody. However we expect the volunteer to have some traits. It is very important that the volunteer is willing to help whether it is going to be children from the Day Centre, lonely elderly people or people with disabilities. We would also like volunteer to be an open-minded and willing to take new challenges and curious since new ideas and initiatives are always welcome within our organization. Although we are Christian organization there are NO requirements for the volunteers regarding religion. They are expected to respect the Christian ethos of our organization though.

Having in mind that this is a specialised area of work but there is no expectation that the volunteer would have any training or major experience we will make our choice based on the volunteer’s spirit, motivation and character as well as his/her perception of this type of work and interest in this country as a place to live for a long term.
Our organization is run by the volunteers so there is a culture of understanding about how a person/volunteer fits in the structure.

The Role of the volunteer will be to work alongside social workers, youth leaders in the design and implementation of programmes within the organization. The volunteer will also assist in the overall day-to-day running of the organization with a supervision of the Coordinator. This will involve some administration tasks and computer work.
