Resumo: Our main activities will be implemented on the territory of Southeast Bulgaria and particularly to the regional center. This includes activities in the region and the settlements in the district.
The city is one of the largest cities in Bulgaria and the starting destination for the Southern and Northern coast. The city has a port, international airport, bus and railway transport. It is situated in the furthest western point of the Black Sea, in the Bay of the same name. The city is situated 370 km far from the capital - Sofia and 350 km from the cosmopolitan city of Istanbul. It is surrounded by three lakes.Through the town passes the pan-European transport corridor 8.

The climate in the region is characterized as subtropical Mediterranean with regular rainfall during the four seasons, and a generally dry year. Summer is usually long and dry with maximum daily temperatures above 20 C, often persisting until November and early December. Winters are wet, soft and shorter in comarison to the inner parts of the country. The average annual temperature is 13-14 C, which allows heat loving evergreen flora. The city is the largest administrative, economic and cultural center in the region.

Some project activities will be implemented in the territory of the smaller municipalities in the area. Mainly these are the activities of the annual calendar of the organization and initiatives in support of local urban and rural communities. The organization has a property: a house and an yard in the village. It is located in the southeastern part of the Balkan Mountains and the probable potential for development of economic, cultular, educational and social life of the community.
The organization has a very good partnership with the municipality and other municipalities in the region, as well as with local and regional cultural, social and educational institutions and organizations.

Some of the activities are related to the activities for prevention of discrimination and protection of civil and human rights, ensuring equal opportunities regardless of people’s differences and community. With respect to the issue of urban and rural areas, the organization's activities include initiatives to participate in planning, construction and maintaininig of local or neighborhood youth councils, policy formulation, implementation of activities in support of local cultural, social and public structures and NGOs and informal groups.
During the project the volunteer will participate in the organization, preparation and implementation of initiatives promoting and presenting youth activities, initiatives and best practices, implementation of activities in support of urban and rural development, partnership with local authorities and youth participation, as well as activities to promote tolerance and non-discrimination. In this regard, the activities will include a study of best youth practices, development of e-newsletters, websites and information on social networks, facilitating informal learning activities, work with children, young people and local communities and public institutions.

Conditions and activities offered by the organization are suitable for volunteers who like geographic diversity, mixed subtropical and moderate climate, type diversity of smaller and big towns and rural settlements. Activities include working in an office and field work. Last but not least is the opportunity to explore the dynamic and cosmopolitan subculture of young, especially in the coastal settlements. The organization is able to provide inclusion of volunteers in activities in support of local authorities and institutions, NGO-s and informal youth groups. Extremely challenging for this could be the implementation of projects and activities in the rural regions with distinguished multicultural diversity and richness.

Perfil: Volunteers must have basic knowledge about EVS and its charter. They must be well motivated about the activity that will be realized. To have the ability to work in a dynamic environment and a team. To observe the principles of working in a team. To be sociable and communicative. To be honest and loyal to the organizations which either send and host them. To share his ideas and thoughts frankly and openly. To have the ability to encourage other youngsters to take part in youth activities and EVS. To be tolerant to differences.
Age: 17-30

Tarefas: Volunteers will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic, interactive and cross-cultural environment. They will acquire skills and experience in the field of civil participation, civil rights, intercession, effective presentation and organizing youth activities and public events. They will het acquainted with good practices of identification, prevention and protection against discrimination. Volunteers will get to know models of creating and maintaining local/ district councils for city/ rural development and interaction with local authorities and NGO-s. Some of the basic skill they will acquire are: development of social responsibility, creativity, enterprise, presenting competence in native and foreign language (Bulgarian). They will acquire basic language knowledge as well as understanding of traditional local culture and subculture but first of all - experience for an independent life and active civil participation.

Volunteers must be motivated for their volunteering service. They should motivate and encourage other young people in the project. They should responsibly and positively fulfil the tasks given in the specific EVS project they applied for. Furthermore, they should contribute to increasing the capacity and image of hosting organization by taking part in the preparation of running organization activities and public events. A role of the volunteer is to contribute to the cross-cultural dialogue between youth and local population as well as to popularize the activities of EVS and the project in which they participate.

Exemplary activities in which volunteers might take part are: preparation and realization of youth initiatives for city/ rural development, including creating and consolidation of local/ district planning and development, intercession civil campaigns, participation in traditional initiatives of the organization in relation to tolerance ('Tolerance - a harmony in diversity'), fellow citizenship (European day of fellow citizenship), information campaigns, activities supporting city/ rural cultural development and social enterprising, campaigns for effective handling of e-waste, etc.; informal trainings and initiatives for european citizenship and civil rights; preparation of an information bulletin and publication of information in social networks; work with local community and institutions.

At arrival, as well as during the project, volunteers will participate in teambuilding, training for working in a team and volunteering. Methods of informal education will be used for generating ideas: discussions, work in groups, workshop, etc.

During their participation in team meetings volunteers will be able to share their opinion and ideas regarding the realization of EVS activities. Volunteers will have the opportunity to receive support from the organization which will create conditions for the realization of ideas: materials, inclusion of local volunteers, insuring of a place for the realization of ideas.

Volunteers will be able to participate with their own ideas into initiatives of the organization as well as to examine and present external experience during the realization of the activities.
