Resumo: Lithuania is the largest of the Baltic states, with an area of 65,200 sq km and 99 km of coastline on the Baltic Sea between Latvia to the north and Russia's Kaliningrad outpost to the south. Other borders are with Belarus and Poland, which joins the country to the rest of the European Union.
The country is largely flat; the highest point being less than 300 meters above sea level, but it has fertile soil with many rivers and is well forested. The capital is Vilnius, and it has the important Baltic port of Klaipeda.

Perfil: We would like to host long term volunteers who will be full of ideas and will like to share them with mentally disabled youngsters: working, playing, being together, breaking down barriers and taking on challenges. The most important is to be open mind; to understand disabled youth; to be motivated to work with such people. Main project idea - volunteer get to know peer with a disability; they will develop "normal" friendship relations with each other. The project motto:CHANGES BEGINS WITH ME.
We would like to host short term mentally disabled volunteers. We will offer various kinds of adopted educational opportunities to volunteers with fewer opportunities. Main project idea - volunteer get new social skills and new learning opportunities by doing non-profit making activities. The project motto: MAKE SIMPLE BUT SIGNIFICANT

The selection of candidates will be given equal opportunity to all regardless of race, ethnicity or gender. The main criteria - willingness to work with intellectual disabed youth and initiatives.
All who are interested to get very valuable informal learning experience and are interested in project idea welcome to apply.
We hope project will create lasting cooperation between the host and sending organisations around a specific topic or target group, and thanks to the recruitment and exchange of volunteers.
Age: 17-30

Tarefas: Find time to listen and look straight into eyes;
- Learn to cry and support each other;
- Don’t be afraid to laugh and just be together;
- Always believe that this is the most wonderful day of your life.
Volunteers at JDC will work together with mentally disabled youth. They will do daily work in the chosen activity: pottery, art, sports, household chores, IT, music, technology, wool felting, theatre and so on. They will support and help young people who have special needs and who are not capable to work with the group.
In addition to the daily activities the volunteers will carry out many public projects such as: organizing exhibitions, concerts, sports festivals for town community that should show abilities of mentally disabled youth and change public attitude. Volunteers will organize special events for non disabled young people at general educational institutions that disseminate the idea of volunteering and to change young people's attitudes to mental disability peers.
Volunteer should also always find time:
- to be with disabled peer and help him, talk with him and support him.
- make friendship with mentally disabled youngsters;
- help mentally disabled in his/her everyday life;
- Listen, support, be together with mentally disabled friend!!!
