Resumo: The host organization was created on the initiative of some volunteers with the support of the Office in the Republic of Moldova in October 1999. The Centre is a non-political, non-governmental and non-profit organisation.
The host organization´s main objectives:to provide cultural, moral and material assistance to refugees and asylum seekers in the Republic of Moldova;to help them integrating into the Moldovan society.

The host organization´s main activities are services to refugees and asylum seekers in the Republic of Moldova, so that they could come and discuss their common interests and problems, participate in different events, meetings, seminars, etc; he host organization organises entertaining activities for refugees and asylum seekers and their children like the International Women's Day, the International Children's Day, Refugee Day, New Year party, Christmas, the 50th Anniversary of UNHCR, birthdays of refugees; the organization hosts the general meetings of the Representative of UNHCR Branch Office in the Republic of Moldova with refugees and asylum seekers in the presence of other local and international entities; the organization carries out ecological activities with the participation of refugees and asylum seekers; the organization provides Romanian, Russian and English language classes to refugees and asylum seekers and their children; the organization provides refugee children with a room equipped with furniture and toys; the organization organizes excursions for refugee children and their mothers on the territory of the city (to museums, zoo, etc.);

Perfil: Age: 17-30

Tarefas: Typical working day of the volunteer could consist of following activities:
- Education 20%: language classes - computer courses - study help for the school children - general social orientation subjects; volunteer is never alone in front of a group and there is always a support person.
- Recreation 65%: music – pottery- sports - events - activities for specific target groups (children, women, men, etc) - library & internet;
- Individual assistance 15%: every worker has a close contact with a certain number of refugees. Volunteer also interacts with refugees and there is always a support person to assist volunteer.
The role of every volunteer is to help in many areas, so any volunteer can find satisfaction. During the weekly programs for refugees, we need people for leading the music, telling a story, playing a clown or drama, keep order or practical things like putting up the sound system, give out packages, helping us to organize activities in the Centre and etc.

At the the organization we can use help for teaching the children, administrative work, cleaning, cooking (which we do together), playing with the children and talking or listening to any person who drops in. We also sort clothes and give these to the families when we visit them or make food packages. For this we need some good hands.
The volunteer tasks will be revised upon volunteer arrival according to the current activities of the organization and motivation and abilities of the volunteer.

Volunteer works 5 days per week in the organization and 1 day per week, on Saturday- in the Shelter for asylum seekers coordinated by the organization. The organization shift starts at 10:00 a.m. and till 17 p.m. Shelter for asylum seekers shift is from 13 p.m. till 15 p.m. In case if there is some special event organized by the centre volunteer can stay longer and work in the evenings upon his/her will. Volunteer is provided with work place, where he/she can use computer with Internet connection and other office facilities.
