Resumo: The Day Care Centre is situated in the city. Volunteer will leave in a host family, s/he will have his own room and shared kitchen and bathroom. Living in host family in typical Moldovan house, volunteer will be totally integrated in Moldovan culture, traditions and way of life. Volunteer will have opportunity to see surroundings and monasteries in the region. The Center is visited by around 40 children, all of them are from 16 surroundings villages. Volunteer will be part of the 16 person team, that consists of: drivers, logoped, therapists, assistants, social pedagogue, pedagogues. Volunteer will assist mainly the pedagogues in organising the recreational activities for the beneficiaries, and if needed s/he will help other workers in their tasks. Latter when volunteer will adapt to the rules of the Centre and staff he will have the opportunity to propose his own ideas for the activities with the beneficiaries.

Perfil: We are welcoming young volunteers with creative interests and experience in the arts and crafts (theatre, visual arts, film/video making, music and so forth) even sports and/or games, also an interest in youth culture is a merit. It is important that you have a genuine interest in working with young people with disabilities maybe even experience in leading youngsters in some activity. We ask for an open minded attitude in the work with disabled people.

Tarefas: PROPOSED ACTIVITIES FOR EVS VOLUNTEERS:
Every day there is a schedule that is respected. Approximately it looks like:
9:00 – 10:00 - Children in groups are coming to the Centre
10:00 – 12:00 - Beneficiaries has their classes with specialists (speech therapist, kinesis therapist, psychologist and etc.)
12:00 – 13:00 - Beneficiaries have lunch
13:00 – 16:00 - Individual activities
16:00 – 17:00 - Children in groups are transported home
In the week-end in warm season can be organised sport activities in one of the village.

The volunteer will be a positive role model as a young adult for the youngsters at our centre, a part of the organization and a co-worker. The volunteer is expected to bring his/her creativity, project ideas, experience in, for example, arts and cultural expressions and/or sports and games to work and participate, support and lead different kind of projects that is developed at our centre. The volunteer will bring his/her experiences from another culture and the process of getting familiar with Moldovan society to the everyday work and life. This will bring about discussion, possibilities to compare life in different parts of Europe and awareness about how society and norms influence our lives.

Activities for the volunteers: At Youth Centre the volunteer will be involved with the everyday leisure activities of youngsters with disabilities. The task is to help the young people to become more independently thinking and acting in their lives and stimulate their creativity. The work can for example involve discussion groups, baking, arranging small open stage evenings, playing some games, supporting youngsters in making a video film, playing music with youngsters. The activities at the Centre have their starting point in the interests of the youngsters who attend the center. Activities differ from day to day. There is a possibility to play different kind of games, work with cultural, artistic or other projects, watch films, join discussion groups about different themes and topics, some of these can be Girls Groups and Boys Groups talking about difficult things or love and sexuality. Volunteer is busy at the Center from Monday to Friday from 10:00AM till 4:00PM. In first part of the day volunteer will be assisting teachers with lessons and workshops they have with beneficiaries, in the afternoon volunteer can propose his/her own activities or help staff in organising leisure time of children, participate in discussions during English club. The volunteer will grow new skills and knowledge, both professional- and life-skills. In the small organization of Day Care Centre the input of everyone matters and the volunteer gets to try out his/her wings with an own creative project as a project leader. And support, participate and co-lead other projects. The language learning process will continue on a daily basis in the work environment through communication with co-workers, youngsters and the people in the community.
