Resumo: The volunteers will live and work in a city with 220 000 inhabitants. It is a very old city, located on the river Elbe. Unfortunately a large part of the city was destroyed during the Second World War, so that most of the beautiful architecture was lost.
The city developed into a centre for heavy industry during the last century. Due to the economic changes resulting from the German reunification a lot of the factories were unfortunately closed. Like other cities Germany, this city has a high rate of unemployment, which causes social tension and problems, particularly in those parts of the city which were built in the 60ties and 70ties.

During the last years the number of students at the universities has steadily increased. The cultural life in the city is also very rich and active: theatre and cabaret offer an interesting and constantly changing repertoire, and there are a lot of museums and galleries as well as different cultural activities that you can visit.

Perfil: We wish curious and open volunteers who can work creatively, independently and adaptably. She should be interested in cultural, historical and political backgrounds, be active with pleasure in a small team and dispose of social competence which a project work with youngsters as well as with the families, sometimes socially underprivileged protagonists requires. In addition, the voluntary interest should have in cultural-educational or media-educational projects; this also implies the ready shaft to try out itself in this area and to let train, even if the volunteer has collected up to now still no experiences in these areas.

Likewise inevitably the joy appears to us in a work with members of different cultures, religions, to educational backgrounds. Hence, we are glad about open, tolerant voluntary person who would like to extend her horizon.
Interested young people can contact us directly or though our partners. During the selection process we will challenge in particular the motivation for the voluntary service, the expectations with regard to our project and the applicant's own wishes and interests for his/ her learning experience. Together we will examine together whether the wishes and the interests of the young person are compatible with the objectives and possibilities of our EVS project, and will develop a mutually agreed-upon plan for tasks and position profile.
During the selection process young people who have already worked in common international youth projects with our partners will be favoured.
Age: 17-30

Tarefas: The project offers to the voluntary person the possibility to help in the long term in the creation of our cultural and educational offers for children and youngsters and to try out itself in different activity fields.
By her application in the different activity areas we would like to develop with the volunteers a strengthening of independent work and team ability and collaboration with other. At the same time country-specific knowledge is given over Germany and about the processes of integration by migrants which can lead to an enrichment of experience.
The experiences in the different activities with different age groups of migrants will teach the interreligious competence intercultural to the volunteer and tolerance.

By working in concrete projects they also become familiar with the organisation and management of projects. Specific knowledge can be acquired in the areas of public relations and design of print media and web pages. On request we also offer the chance to take part in education events such as workshops, seminars and training courses run by the organization, its member organisations or partners.

The wishes and interests of the volunteers are central, particularly their right to learn. Taking into account the requirements of the particular field of work, a specific project plan is developed and agreed upon with the young person. During the year each young person is expected to independently develop and carry out a per-sonal project.
The first activity area is the co-operation in cultural and educational advances in of the daily work of the asso-ciation in oneworld house. Here the volunteer can help supporting, introduce own creation ideas as well as conceive own arrangement offers, also in the cooperation with other European volunteers. Besides, one can go back to the experiences of the linguistic cafe as well as experiences by intercultural action forms at activities in the civil society. Also the common creation of an exhibit is conceivable
Another activity area encloses the bilingual online newsletter with youngsters. This newspaper promotes the contacts between youngsters in Germany and the Ukraine and removes the prejudices and clichés, promotes knowledge and knowledge as well as intercultural tolerance and acceptance.

Another possibility offers the co-operation in arrangements of information as well as the production of info materials for these arrangements. Also the cooperation in the public relations of the union where herself the voluntary person could try out by the production of publications, cuttings reports or photo documentations can be realized.
In the long term the co-operation is also possible in international meetings, we would like to develop together with partners in East Europe such projects, youngsters itself, besides, creatively would like to introduce, and are welcome as volunteers.
All of these activities are based on the volunteers’ interests and desires, and are regularly reviewed together and, if necessary, adjusted or corrected.
