Resumo: The host organization has opted to host and coordinate volunteers from different countries with geographical difficulties: Belarus, Kenya and Turkey, among others. We think that we have to work for breaking the borders between young Europeans, invest our resources and put our experience to more ambitious projects. The organization wants to encourage international cooperation and solidarity, and the EVS with neighbour is a good tool to achieve this.
In the case that a person that we welcome in the organization is youngster with fewer geographic, economic or cultural opportunities, the first thing we offer is a complete training (since leaving his country until the early weeks of arrival) to ensure that they know the Youth in Action Programme and EVS, the host culture and the actors involved in the project. This training and preparation is between the sending association and the host organization, that facilitates and guides so that methodology and content meet the needs of the project and the volunteer. It guarantees appropriate training to youngster, not only in the practical aspects (activities) of the association, but also, and importantly, in the ideological aspects which guide our steps and socio-cultural context in which we operate.

On arrival, the entire team of the organization is involved in their education and training to provide the overall vision of the association and a sense of belonging to the senior team. Moreover, it is very important to make disposable two people who are directly responsible for monitoring, evolution and evaluation of your project: the mentor and tutor. The first, manages the cultural integration, accompanying the volunteer in their activities outside the EVS and the second, tutoring the entire project, the volunteer for development and autonomy. Thus, the support is double and the volunteer has the opportunity to develop confidence around the people.

In turn, the organization like a sending organization implements sending projects of short duration with young people with fewer opportunities. We sent youth from the neighborhood, district and city to the European entities we have established a partnership and who develop this kind of projects. We send youth to associations that has experience in formal education and education in values that we defend in the organization (sustainable development, participation, multiculturalism, peace education, ...)

Tutoring are based on a close relationship and trust with the volunteer, and are carried out while making the tasks assigned to the volunteer, also spaces intended for periodic evaluation of your project. To make evaluations and regular monitoring (with the mentor and tutor) we use dynamics and materials, involving the volunteer ability to think critically, creatively and to propose alternatives to their difficulties, to take advantage of the opportunities he provides. They are non-formal education tools that promote learning from self-responsibility and active participation..

Perfil: The organization is an association that has been working with European projects since 1999. International team consists of professionals and volunteers, intercultural, human rights, citizenship and active participation experts. we offer our volunteers support to get specific knowledge about their project: manage and work with European programs, especially - Youth in Action and Leonardo.

For training activities related to specific project, the volunteer will attend workshops (training) on: European Union, the European Union policies for youth, European Programs for Youth in general, Youth Program in Action (youth Exchanges and European Voluntary Service), the Leonardo da Vinci program, service information, advice and guidance to young people, socio-cultural animation, group dynamics, counseling entities and institutions (public and private) modules on intercultural work, preparation of output groups in mobility programs, managing a non-profit association, the administration of a non-profit association and funding a nonprofit association.

The volunteer will have also the opportunity to experience and learn the meaning of "working group" and "teamwork", how to plan and implement a project (Idea, preparation, implementation, evaluation) but also practical things like the use of different instruments used daily in the association.
For the better integration into the local community volunteer will be offered a cultural program designed for him / her, which is expected to participate in activities and events organized by the organization and other youth associations, association neighbors, libraries, community centers, art and culture of the city. In this way the volunteer will enter into contact not only with citizen participation spaces but also with young people and adults who encourage and participate in these places.
At the end of the project the volunteer will be given the certificate YOUTHPASS-EVS.

The volunteer will support various activities related to the management and implementation of the Youth in Action projects, Leonardo da Vinci, cooperation and development education and local activities. The tutor is responsible of EVS in the organization and the volunteer will work at his side, with more and more autonomy. We are open that volunteer participate in other projects of the association, according to his concerns, ideas and contributions.
The volunteer will be involved in the activities of the association and activities related to his specific project, the tutor and the other members of the organization will help him integrate and learn smoothly

To help in the integration with the organization team and work there will be choosen one day a week in which the volunteer and the tutor will have a short assessment on what he learned during the week and on possible critical points. In addition, there will be other more formal assessments during the project where will be involved also other members of the organization (besides the tutor).

The basic activity is the promotion of international youth mobility projects: advice to volunteers who want to make an EVS, contact with new partners so that we can extend our resources and provide maximum opportunities for volunteers who want to leave or come, dinamisation of the cultural program for Leonardo participants who are in the city three months, updating and dissemination of local activities through the magazine or the web.

Besides these tasks - which are at the same time learning tasks - start to design her/his personal project, which should be based on their motivation and interest in a particular topic, use the resources of the hosting association, and also think about spreading her/his project or learning outcomes .

The volunteer weekly activity in the organization will be 30 hours and is divided in supporting tasks the organization collaborators, training and preparation of your project. The weekly working time is 6 hours daily, Monday to Friday, with weekends off.

The volunteer will have 20 days of holidays during 10 months (2 days per each month of the project) The date will be decided by the volunteer according to both his needs and the organization priorities.

Tarefas: The project is developed in the organization, in a socio-cultural association. Our immediate environment is Gótic neighborhood, one of the most central and intercultural. Neighborhoods has historically received much of immigration adapting its facilities to a high density of population. This neighborhood has a large number of public services (libraries, primary care, social services, schools and colleges, etc). And a strong associative tissue but not very organized. There are problems of exclusion on the basis of origin, socio-economic status or religion, there are serious difficulties with housing degraded and aged neighbors, and however, there are many educational and social projects focused on mediation and integration between the different groups.

In this framework, the organization carries the added value of promoting youth mobility in Europe and active participation among young people of the neighborhood and the city. This activity seems especially important and meaningful in this environment, which goes beyond local integration and offers a range of unimaginable possibilities, especially for new arrivals. The organization reaches all the city with their intercultural education proposals in collaboration with other associations and institutions. It is important that young people know the city in which they live, are able to enjoy it in all its complexity and find out where they can do the activities that interest. That’s why it is a city that offers young people many alternatives of leisure time or street life: there are youth associations in all areas, spaces and facilities with a lot of information, people are available to help them to find out what they want, and there is the opportunity to increase their opportunities and abilities as trained youth.

Volunteers will live in the same city, but have independent accommodation from the hosting project beneficiaries.
